Here we go, trolling another thread with the same idiotic gibberish.

Here's a question that maybe you can answer (since you avoid everything else asked of you) - what exactly do you think "upside down" means?

OK, if you're so convinced that there's something wrong, then tell us exactly what's wrong with the explanation you linked to.

Tell us why field rotation shouldn't happen as teh observer rotates.

Tell us why there are pictures going back decades of this effect, and stuff written in books from over 100 years ago about it, if it's such a new phenomenon.

Or are you just going to keep posting the same stupid gifs and pointless gibberish?

Re: Look at the moon, upside down again
From the "article" provided before:

Whenever the moon is above the sun (from your perspective), the moon's underside is illuminated.

1011 1011 1011

In the case in question, the moon happened to be low in the western sky in the hours after sunset.

1011 1011

The sun, well below the horizon, was illuminating what appeared from your perspective to be the lower portion of the moon.

1011 1011 1011 1011 1011

SO the sun (since last 3 years only), has changed and has became a sort of: [link to t0.gstatic.com]

throttling around near the earth

who knows, maybe true @ this point, instead of earth's axis changes hiding

I saw that happen too last year, and have seen it in diferrent rotation positions since, but no 1 gives a fk, and it seems to right itself again the next day or two without any effect on us whatsoever.

I did read an explanation for it, which had something to do with the time of year or season or smnthun...

will try to look it up

Ok you know, on central hemisphere it is normal to see the moon rotating during the day some degrees (you live in Mexico right?). Maybe you mean a big different behavior from the past I guess, can you explain in details what did you see? Thanks mate.

Quite normal my ass. Here you again with the same BS "field rotation" used by shills that mean nothing.

If you don't think so, provide a link that explain your stupid bsflag relative to the upside down moon on northern hemisphere.

Translation for sane people: Shills = people who disagree with him. In other words, amateur astronomers and others who know about astronomy.
If you don't think so, provide a link that explain your bsflag
 Quoting: Duc

It's not BS, I explained it and demonstrated it clearly in the thread I linked you to. Here's another article about it:
"...similarly, the moon will rise with the Sea of Crises (Mare Crisium) edge leading upwards, the Ocean of Storms (Oceanus Procellarum) following and lower. Both of these dark areas will appear about the same altitude when it transits, then the Ocean of Storms will be higher than the Sea of Crises as the moon sets. Again the tilt changes as the moon moves across the sky. Both examples show field rotation with your head and body acting like an altazimuth mount."

The BS link you provide, obviously, is full of BS, in fact it has 2 reader's star vote. However now you tell us, how many times per year you shuld see the upside moon on a region like UK on northern hemisphere/latitude (roftl). Good luck...

 Quoting: DUCM900

Circular logic, and no, it's not BS.
in fact it has 2 reader's star vote.
 Quoting: Duc

It's not the first time I've used that link. Hardcore moontards will downvote it as it disagrees with their false preconceived notions of astronomy and they are immune to the truth. Nonetheless, you wanted a link giving an explanation, I gave it to you, you have done nothing to refute a word of that explanation. Your goalpost has been met.
However now you tell us, how many times per year you shuld see the upside moon on a region like UK on northern hemisphere/latitude (roftl). Good luck...
 Quoting: Duc

Your OP id shows you're in Italy, not the UK, or are you admitting to being banned and are now getting a new IP to get back onto the site? Do tell who you were in your former "life" if so...

Anyway, field rotation occurs every single day from all non-polar aligned perspectives. The crescent moon will always appear tilted to one extent or another as it rises and sets depending on its declination and your location on the ground. At what point you decide it's "upside down" is subjective and irrelevant. What matters is that its tilt is normal, a fact I demonstrated live in the thread I linked to above by showing the moon from a non-polar aligned as well as a polar aligned perspective on the same night.

Re: Look at the moon, upside down again
I have a sun question?

The other day, it was grey and overcast (as usual) where I am.

On days like these, it is not possible to see the sun through the thick veil of grey.

However, yesterday I saw an event that I'd never before seen: The sun brightly glowing through the thick grey veil of clouds.

This has never happened before, now with the thick clouds we get.

ANyone else noticed too the sun's strength to appear through thick clouds?
