This is from your so called father of history Herodotus (white guy), "the histories."

The Greek historian Herodotus specifically uses it to describe all of Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Latin name Libya referred to the region west of the Nile Valley, generally corresponding to modern Northwest Africa.

[2.104] There can be no doubt that the Colchians are an Egyptian race. My own conjectures were founded, first, on the fact that they are black-skinned and have woolly hair, which certainly amounts to but little, since several other nations are so too. But further and more especially, on the circumstance that the Colchians, the Egyptians, and the Ethiopians (here he is talking Nubians), are the only nations who have practised circumcision from the earliest times.

[7.70] The eastern Ethiopians - for two nations of this name served in the army - were marshalled with the Indians. They differed in nothing from the other Ethiopians, save in their language, and the character of their hair. For the eastern Ethiopians have straight hair, while they of Libya (here he is talking about ALL of Africa) are more woolly-haired than any other people in the world.

Now who I am to believe? Some racist, biased arab (zahi) or a person who was actually there? lol

zahi hawass isn't a racist he is an expert. obviously anyone who does not agree with you is a racist? lol, why would he not claim his blackness? what does he hope to gain from denying it?

he denies it because it isn't true and not even your faulty translation from herodotus will make it so. you are basing your supposition on the word melanchroes which some claim means black is faulty because the term was also used to describe skin from black to dark tanned skin tones while it actually means 'dark.' to the invading paler skinned romans or the paler skinned greeks i have no doubt that the egyptians seemed 'darker' than they.

you quote herodotus, and i could quote dozens of others who contradict him, such as Manilius, Astronomica 4.724, Arrian, Indica 6.9, Strabo, Geography 15.1.13, Xenpohanes, Ammianus Marcellinus, Flavius Philostratus: c.170 to c.247, to name a few. but even if you can't bring yourself to believe eyewitnesses and dna then perhaps you will accept the differences depicted in the ancient wall art which i provide here. the ancient egyptians clearly knew the differences between themselves and their neighbors.

the negroid race can lay no claim to the greatness of the ancient egyptian civilization. as a white person i make no claim to it either because it was theirs, uniquely theirs, and i am content for it to be so, invent your own history if you need the self-esteem boost but leave theirs alone.

from left to right,

nehesy -- black inhabitants further south in Africa below today's province of Nubia.

romut - themselves, the farmers, hunters and fishermen living in the Nile Valley.

aamu - Asians (and people in the east mountains, usually dressed like Egyptians).

temehu - libyans, from the coastal area in north-west and western desert, having swanky dresses, fair skin and tribe mark tattoos, seen also on egyptians, even today.
