Going to upgrade cell phone: Blackberry, Iphone, Android?
I have an Iphone 4 but the touch screen pisses me off. My fingers are too big to type out sentences, then the phone wants to autocorrect a basic word into a word not in my vocabulary and the biggest pissoff is trying to move the cursor to the right position to make an edit.

I would like to go back to a Blackberry but the company situation worries me. What happens if they go bankrupt, wouldn't the BB service go down with it?
If I do I would get the Bold 9900

I'm interested in Androids but Google scares the shit outta me with all of their privacy infringements.
If I do I would get the Motorola milestone xt860

I did a jailbreak on my iPhone so I know it's more secure. Can you do the same for Android phones?

I use the phone the most in the following order: email, sms, gps, browsing, games

Suggestions?

Apple is also in a deal with the Dept of Homeland Security. So whichever way you go, it makes no difference.

If you like long battery life and being stuck with something you can not customize, then Apple is your choice. If you like short battery life but want to customize your phone, then Android is your choice. Either way, your info goes to the government. Both Apple and Google will share your info with the Government. Best phone? One with no GPS, just a simple cell phone where you can not be tracked. To carry a GPS enabled phone on you is like having a Microchip in your pocket....

Ok thanks for reading my post because my iPhone is pissing me off! What else should I get?

I'm not worried about "my information" (phone number, account name, phone usage) going to the government because the phone is under someone else's name, I've been smart to this long ago. I'm worried about the keystrokes, or picture taking, saving my contacts, saving my sms or anything else Google is up to.

Once again, I have an iPhone and I hate it. I HATE IT. I want to go Android but I'm worried about Google, not the government. I live in Canada first of all, our government treats information differently than USA. I'm worried about Google because it's a company tracking the information.

I didn't think it was that hard of a question to ask...

wrong... all they need is you to be connected to a cell tower to track your phone, gps or not.

Get the cheapest PLAIN OLD PHONE you can.
Camera and keypad is nice but not really required.
No data plan either.
It's a phone.

2nd on this one, I've had an iphone free from work for ~5 months. I haven't used it more than 10 times, I still use my old "dumb" phone. I think I'm just going to turn it back in.

I can't stand how much time I waste when I did use it. Don't get something that just takes away time from the real world, computers are bad enough :).

If your thumbs are big Blackberry is difficult. Blackberry is still doing well, there cash flow is enormous and QNIX once the APIs are sorted out is an awesome OS. They will I am imagine be going touch screen too.
As far as Iphone it has less security issues than Android but I really like my LG 930 Optimus (Android Gingerbread), nice big screen and I like the Haptic feedback when typing. My wife has an Iphone 4 and loves it.

Bottom Line: Go to your local phone store and try them out.

android has the biggest security issues of all..
you have to give consent to apps that are pre installed, these apps require you to allow them access all you info on the phone, some go as far as access to you pictures..

Thank you. You are the first one to give me a proper response.

I don't know where these "dumb" phone ideas came from, dumb people who can't read my thread apparently.

Sorry I ever fucking asked.

Re: Going to upgrade cell phone: Blackberry, Iphone, Android?
You mentioned every phone but the windows.

Here is the thing its young and its market shows it. But it's practicality makes using the phone easy and attractive. Its screen is clear and bright and the touch is sleek and fast. You can buy a windows trophy from Verizon for under 40$ with a contract and it does all the things iPhone does with the potential to do A lot more in the future (future-proff) a quality the phones you mention lack.

Black beries are dying and droids break iPhones are popular but it's interface is boring.

honestly take a look into windows phone you will be surprised.
