I'm over 40 was raised in a home where no one used stupid words to describe others that includes using any mean words to describe a person. My extended family, the same way. I've only ran into a few people that ever said the N word, we didn't become friends we were co-workers. I've heard the word racism or that's racist all most every time there is a group of mixed people. It's understood that those that cry racism are doing so to educate the white man of their plight but after all these years those that cry racism should be educating themselves on who is causing the great divide these days. Using the R word is a constant reminder to the color of your skin when people are becoming more color blind as the generations continue. One day, if it keeps up, we really will see what an outright racist country is capable of - no matter who it would be in power.

The USA would be better if the majority of blacks would tip toe around the R word and practice refusing to say it the same way the majority of white people had to tip toe around the N word until they were used to not saying it back in the 60's. It will be most hard for the first generation to practice refraining but after a while people will have "real" discussions instead of heading to their corner out of being offended.
