Write down a list of everything you did from taking that picture of the key through to taking a nap and to the point of realizing the key has gone. Put times against each item in the list. Be as specific as you can, include the room you were in.
Then see if there is any missing time greater than 10 minutes.

Quoting: List 1449133 I am in a motel room(pay by the week). The picture I took was the key sitting in my laptop. The laptop is on the bed right in front of me. I fell asleep then the key was gone.  The only loss of time was the short nap.
