I used to be shy too. For me it helped to write. Poems, stories, put some humour in it. I made up the most ridiculous situation. First for yourself, than let others, family, friends, read them and notice how they make people react, laugh, touch, encourage. Of course, also criticism, but than at one point it builds your confidence and makes you realize that all these people are the same as you, all different from each other, with their own specific character signs and insecurities. It let's you speak out, makes you realize that you are worth showing yourself in word and appearance.

It also makes you realize that when people have a problem with the way you are, it is their problem and not yours. Just be you!

You sound like a smart person and (forgive me if I am wrong) maybe you are trying to analyze your way out too much, which is very logical, but because you can not find the solutions you need it keeps getting worse, also in mind. Compare it with dripping water.

Of course, it is good to track back what went wrong, for future sake, but it won't solve the problems you are in. Often, when we analyze and can't find solutions we end up degrading ourselves, calling ourselves stupid and all that and that only makes things worse. Being down and stressed has nothing to do with the level of intelligence.

What you need is to try and vent what you are going through. Write it down. If you can't talk to close friends or family about it, maybe vent it to people who are further away from you, on the net, here, whereever you might be heard. First, it gives you relief, because you adressed your problems, let them out. And there might be people who read it, recognize it, advice you, direct you to possible solutions.

But don't keep it inside and talk yourself down even more. You are beautiful and there are people out there to listen.

I have a college degree asshole. I took the first job to come my way. And its only 15 mins driving from my house. Im sorry, should I have declined the only job offer in months just because its not walking distance from my house? There is no jobs close to my house like that. I wish. Im not going to take my son from his school and move just because a job is walking distance to my house. Where I live is right in between. My sons school is 10 mins away and my job is 15 mins away. I think thats pretty damn good.
