I need to keep my electric from being turned off, the bill is over $1200 and although we've tried to get the electric company to take $300, they still want it all or they'll turn it off this Tuesday coming up.
Both of us are disabled and can't work (we wish that we could), my wife needs electric for her oxygen machine, CPAP and Tyvaso inhaled medicine machine she uses to treat Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension- and she nor I have ever smoked so the Dr's have no idea how she go it.
Funny thing is that the electric company has over $800 in Co-Op dividends that belong to us for over 17 years of being customers, but we can't use it for our bill unless we close out our account and pay off the whole bill.... which makes no sense at all since they get to keep all the years of extra money we were required to pay and they get to reap from 10's of 1,000's of customer money gaining interest while we can't touch it. BTW- they used to send little "Co-Op" latters letting dividend owners know how much they had, but they stopped about 5 years ago.
Not sure what to do now, already checked with local charities and they are all out of funding.
