Why are they trying to pretend like 1975 never happened?

I hear what you're saying, and here at home we're both that early 1960s generation which we call "gen SUCK", lol

for some reason...I can remember 1975 as if it were yesterday. When OP posted this thread, I checked, and I still have vinyl with covers printed in 1975, books printed in 1975 and a few other objects as well.

I know I have never been part of the crowd, and dad said we were born outside time, but there it is...1972 - 1975 alive and well, and still as bland and silly as ever

It's not gonna work, not for me. Because I remember the day back in '75, when I rode with my dad to the Holiday station store, and he went inside to look for a car part, and I waited in the car. And it was shortly after the New Year, and there was an ad painted on the store window.. and it said something about '75 blowout sale on something.

I waited and waited for him to come back, it seemed to take forever. I didn't have any comic books along, nothing to do but sit.. and wait. The boredom nearly killed me. Then I started playing mind games with myself, and I remember saying to myself.. something like.. "In spite of the fact that I've never been so bored in my life, and that there's nothing special about this moment whatsover, for that very reason I'm going to burn this moment into my mind, and I will NEVER forget it."

And sure enough, I never did. I guess it's all about intent.

Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

It is amazing. They have deleted all the facts from 1975. We don't notice because all the other year's information is there, so there is still a lot going on. Enough for us not to notice. But if you look into it you'll see. All the 1975 coins are disappearing too. Try to find a 1975. These aren't even silver man...they aren't even silver....

Nuh-UH!! There were cartoons in the '50's. Mickey Mouse Club. Superman (in OBVIOUS long johns).

However, 1975 MAY have been the year that cartoons STOPPED being funny! I look at some of them now (when friends' kids are over) and wonder what the HECK is funny about them?

I don't really remember - I was 25, had just moved to Oregon with the man who would become my husband of 30 years, and was too BUSY trying to SURVIVE because of the big Recession to watch cartoons!

my DD-214 still says discharged May, 1975. I remember it very very well.

There have been and will be other memories erased.
