Why are they trying to pretend like 1975 never happened? | |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 10238299 United States 03/31/2012 04:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's to screw over the late baby-boomers. Firstly, deleted years mean it takes longer to get to retirement. Secondly, they don't have to pay out on contributions for deleted years. 1975 is only the first, mark my words. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1307021 This has been my favourite GLP thread today. I hear what you're saying, and here at home we're both that early 1960s generation which we call "gen SUCK", lol However, that said, (and no doubt we're bound to get screwed hard, as we had to buy our overpriced houses from late 1940s baby boomers who got to run them up from $30,000 20 years before) for some reason...I can remember 1975 as if it were yesterday. When OP posted this thread, I checked, and I still have vinyl with covers printed in 1975, books printed in 1975 and a few other objects as well. I know I have never been part of the crowd, and dad said we were born outside time, but there it is...1972 - 1975 alive and well, and still as bland and silly as ever Just like Silver, any artifact from 1975 will be skyrocketing. It is holding that reality in existence. They will try to destroy the remains. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 13523331 Australia 03/31/2012 04:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's not gonna work, not for me. Because I remember the day back in '75, when I rode with my dad to the Holiday station store, and he went inside to look for a car part, and I waited in the car. And it was shortly after the New Year, and there was an ad painted on the store window.. and it said something about '75 blowout sale on something. Quoting: JATMON I waited and waited for him to come back, it seemed to take forever. I didn't have any comic books along, nothing to do but sit.. and wait. The boredom nearly killed me. Then I started playing mind games with myself, and I remember saying to myself.. something like.. "In spite of the fact that I've never been so bored in my life, and that there's nothing special about this moment whatsover, for that very reason I'm going to burn this moment into my mind, and I will NEVER forget it." And sure enough, I never did. I guess it's all about intent. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. nice story...............have similar moments from my childhood that stick in my memory..like the time when I was 6 and my father told me he couldnt remember his childhood much..i recall sitting in the car looking out at the horizon and promising myself I would always remember this moment and whilst many childhood memeories are gone that one remains as vivid as any from my life |

We don't notice because all the other year's information is there, so there is still a lot going on. Enough for us not to notice. But if you look into it you'll see. All the 1975 coins are disappearing too. Try to find a 1975. These aren't even silver man...they aren't even silver.... Quoting: Historeez Mysteree 10238299 Travis Walton. 1975. Seems like a good enough reason for the government to make 1975 disappear. Like it never really happened. If they could do the same with 1947, I'm sure that would please them as well. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12822386 Nuh-UH!! There were cartoons in the '50's. Mickey Mouse Club. Superman (in OBVIOUS long johns). However, 1975 MAY have been the year that cartoons STOPPED being funny! I look at some of them now (when friends' kids are over) and wonder what the HECK is funny about them? I don't really remember - I was 25, had just moved to Oregon with the man who would become my husband of 30 years, and was too BUSY trying to SURVIVE because of the big Recession to watch cartoons! "I have come to the conclusion that all news should be treated like 9/11, assume it is a psyop with actors participating in a staged event complete with props, until proven otherwise, in which case assume whatever is being recorded, reported, televised, is distortions/lying by omission/outright lies, until proven otherwise." - Anonymous, 4-13-12 |

Yeah, his memory fails him some...FORD was in office in '75 followed by Carte in '76-'80. Then we had Reagan and his little "trickle-down" economics. I remember the 1st time I heard him speak of this and thought yeah "trickle-down economics" meaning the they piss down onto the backs of the working people! And it tirckles all down on the rest of us. |
