Of Mice and Men is pretty good - also, Grapes Of Wrath (it's not really about hobo's - more about migrant workers).

Re: Movies about hobo life, adventures
Here are two movies that portray aspects of hobo life and two autobiographical books written by actual hoboes.

Movies:

The American Hobo (2003)

This film is a documentary narrated by Ernest Borgnine.

The Earthling (1980)

This film is set in rural Australia and stars William Holden and Ricky Scroeder.

Books:

Charles Elmer Fox, author of Tales of an American Hobo (Singular Lives) (1989, ISBN 978-0-87745-251-5)

Monte Holm, author of Once A Hobo: The Autobiography of Monte Holm (1999, ISBN 978-1-882792-76-4)

This link talks about hobo lingo, signs, and ethics and lists a number of well known hoboes as well as famous people who have hoboed at some point in their lives.

Re: Movies about hobo life, adventures
Thanks guys and gal for your recomendations, I ll try to look for those movies.. I think I saw something of the E bornigne one a long time ago....memory is not what it was;)

For the canadian teenager: El Hobo senor a la shotgun.....
Oh my G...you should try to learn another language (as I did) and dont trust the f.... online translator...sorry kid.

I ll dig into those movies and try to find them, the worst part is that the publishers ( down here) translate the titles as they wish (trying to give you a hint) and that makes everything more difficult...IMDB is my friend.

Thx

Emperor of the NorthWest

great scene at the end where Lee Marvin and Ernest Borgnine duke it out on a moving flatcar, with chains and iron bars!

worth watching for that scene alone, but over all pretty good
