Not trying to be mean PA but your husband would probably treat you more like a wife if you acted more like one. If his job does not have benefits, you should get a job with benefits and help him out. How you can think its ok to not work while he is working full time is beyond me. You need to contribute to the household and that means getting off the computer and pulling your weight (like get a job). Stop making excuses why you cannot contribute to your household.

Oh. Okay. I don't act like one. Oh yeah.

Geez. I guess these days cooking dinner, washing clothes, cleaning house, taking care of children don't count as acting like a wife to some. OMG! And oh yeah, that's not pulling my weight as a wife? I DON'T THINK SO!!! Any how, I am not one of those wives who sits around doing nothing all day or shops all the time.

I also run an ebay store and run a stable besides being a housewife!!! As to jobs with benefits, they are few and far between in this area. Got one for me? I have been looking for more than a year, but it is scant in this area! Would you like a list of the colleges, counties, and other businesses I have sent resumes to in the past year? OH and most the jobs I run across I don't qualify for because I do not have a BS DEGREE or some other 4 year degree!!! Lack of jobs is NOT an excuse, it is a FACT. I even tried to get a scholarship from the career link place to get training as a medical transcriptionist, but still got turned down because they said we made too much money for a family of three!!!! (and I am in the middle of bankruptcy)

Oh and btw, would you chip in on day care for my daughter when I do find a full time job??? That is another problem that will crop up if I do get a full time job!

Doesn't matter the circumstances, no spouse should have controlling behavior over the other one. Plain and simple that is NOT right!

Any how, those in their 20's and 30's get picked over those in their 40's for jobs and in this economy with lack of jobs it is very hard! Any how I cannot help it the economy TOOK MY JOB AWAY FROM ME!!!!!!!!!!

Excuse me, I have to get off the computer (which I have been on for a total of 4 times today not more than 15 minutes in between household CHORES and feeding critters and GARDENING etc etc) I gotta go fix dinner now!!!!

Listen sister, if he needs health insurance, then it's his responsibility to get it for himself. Men are supposed to provide for their families.

If you want to get a part time job to help with the income, that's fine, but that should be your own choice. Sounds like you already have a part time job selling on ebay. Taking care of a household is a Full time job that some men still don't appreciate. But, that's his problem, don't let him make it your problem. You are doing enough according to the Bible. You take care of your family, and you also run a part time business. A husband can't expect anymore then that.

Thanks Lisa for reminding me about what it says about this in the Bible. This makes me feel better. You are right.

You're welcome. The Bible also says that we are to submit to our husbands too......so I don't know how to reconcile that. If your husband is telling you to do something that you feel is wrong or abusive, I don't know how to handle that. Take it to the Lord in prayer and seek His guidance with this.
