Sisters in Christ, Whenever I complain about my weight to my Mom....she always repljes with; " YOU DONT SEE ANY FAT ETHIOPIANS!!!"....In other words...they dont have a thyroid problem...if they arent putting food in that hole under their nose ....there is no fat on the body!!! And you know what? SHE IS RIGHT!! OH LORD! ! as much as I HATE to admit it..LOL, When I started fasting and praying for several days at a time, the weight fell right off. I did do certain fasts. I didnt not eat at all. I started following some of the fasts on Jentezen Franklin's web site, several years ago. OH WHEN WE FAST AND PRAY WITH A FERVENT PRAYER HOW WE GROW SO MUCH CLOSER TO OUR PRECIOUS LORD AND SAVIOR!!!!
I do know some ppl really have thyroid problems ...my mom and sister both have issues, so i hope i didnt offend. I was jjst trying to lighten the mood a bit with some humor, by saying we are what we eat......literally.

Yea, I've read some good things about daniel fasting for weight control. I think there is a "bible diet" out there somewhere too, it's all about veggies, whole grains and fruit I think.

Personally, I'm just going to stay fat for a while. I"m trying to quit smoking, so right now I need my tastycakes.

I have a really cool weight-loss approach that I want to apply. I share it in case you or others are interested. The approach is simple if you believe in its basis. I read it in a limited-release book I bought at an Andrew Wommack meeting. (At the moment, I don't remember the title or the author's name).

To summarize, believers can renew their minds. If I dislike certain foods, it is EASY not to eat them. If I force myself to refrain from unhealthy foods but still long for them, I will eventually return to them like a dog off the leash or a loose monkey in the produce section (sorry, just had to say that). The approach is this: Regularly tell yourself that you do not like (whatever specific) foods. (In my case, "I do not like chips. I do not like ice cream. I do not like sugary desserts"). This is not to suggest that any food is unhealthy in moderation, but disliking the food makes it easy to quit. Eventually, you WILL dislike that food by telling yourself you dislike it. The author of the book lost lots of weight this way and has kept it off for years. He no longer likes the foods that were his downfall. He even suggested that you continue eating the foods that cause you trouble, and simply say, "I do not like (whatever)" before eating it. Eventually, you will not want to eat it. There won't be any disappointment or shame, you just won't like it.

Not to say I disagree with his posts here. If I didn't see crucial overlap between his words and mine I wouldn't feel the need to post this, now would I. But I don't know what he will write next, and I don't care for the confusion that may happen in 1 or two minds that might spot the similarity.

If it did not hurt my knees to be over 140 lbs, I certainly would let myself go. But, then I would be one of those millions of people on high blood pressure medication and I would not be able to move as it would hurt my knees too much. I saw my mom suffer from sky rocketing up to over 250 lbs back in the 80's due to sluggish thyroid symptoms. I just don't want to go there. :(

So until I get myself to an endocrinologist for a second opinion, then I will have to keep buying those dynamite 180 drops and doing a 1200 cal diet following the foods list. yuck. I keep praying for a solution. I want to be able to maintain my weight without having to buy hcg drops, and without having to go hungry all the time.

Thanks soulwinner for posting this. However, my metabolism is so crappy (even though I DO exercise) that I would have to dislike ALL food. Right now, I am getting to that point where I just don't want to eat anymore. :(

LISA, You are back !!!!! Good to hear you are trying to stop smoking, it's something I have to do. I will be Praying for you. Last summer Jesus took the desire away from me for a full 24 hours ( smoking) and like a jerk I picked one up, wish I never did that.

The Lord is God, yes we know that! Yes God is everywhere and all knowing and all powerful but He is a person, an individual who made us in His own image. What that means is He shares or rather we share His attributes. God wants us to know Him on a personal and individual level. Get to know Him as a person, for He is you know? We tend to pursue our friends interests maybe not at first, just like a man and his wife seek the common bond of fellowship between each other. Its not hard to know God and His personalty but you will never know until you start to get to know Him. Oh! Whats that? You say you know Him? Thats funny, if you know Him you will start to show His attributes from your own friendship with God. You are friends with God, right? Then start showing it. Love without truth is a lie. You cannot discern between light and darkness if you dont have the Light to begin with. You worry about earth quakes and volcanoes and planets entering our solar system and yet you dont worry if your in a correct relationship with the Lord. How sad!

Yes this is a message to Christians, the majority of them. It also can be applied to any individual who seeks God with their heart no matter what course of faith they may adhere to. You cant love God until you know God. He makes His knowledge or rather the knowledge of who He is to all. God does not discriminate between one heart and another heart though they be of different religions. He looks at the heart and if He sees that your heart is searching for Him He will show you Jesus Christ the knowledge of Himself. The profession of your faith lies not only in your confession of faith in Christ Jesus it is based on your knowledge of Jesus Christ to you personally.

Sindy Jennings is my distributor - you will have to contact the dynamite company and find a local distributor in your area if you are interested in them.

Dynamite 180 drops are homeopathic hcg plus a few other things. It comes with a food list for one to follow which the diet is basically low fat, low glycemic and low calorie. They recommend 600 calories a day while on these drops, but not necessary. I have eaten 1200 cals a day and still have lost 1/2 pound per day. It is the hcg telling your body to burn fat when on a low cal diet. Without these drops, I still gain fat on a 1200 cal diet due to my sluggish thyroid. It is around a 3 week diet and it works. However if one has a sluggish thyroid, the weight loss will be difficult to maintain after done with the program, so one will need to do the program again later to get off the weight the sluggish thyroid causes.
