NO religion will take you to paradise.

Because paradise by its very nature would be perfection..and perfection could NOT use something dark and sinister (Like the THREAT and BLACKMAIL of HELL)..and thus IMperfect..to lead you there..other wise it would NOT be perferfection.

So lets take religion itself..

Religion relies on FEAR to operate.

FEAR of death being the MAIN stain..fear of performance..fear os SIN..fear of ELDERS..fear of WRATH and HELL and TORTURE if you dont comply with what the FEAR dictates.

How can FEAR lead to perfection?

How could a PERFECT being..GOD..use FEAR..and threats of eternal torture or purgatory or agony..ALL traits of darkness...to lead to perfection?

Perfect love CASTS OUT ALL FEAR the bible says..so HOW could GOD..who IS "perfect love" use the VERY thing he is SUPPOSED to CAST OUT..as a means of BRINGING IN..those he wants to lead to perfection?

Thats like washing in MUD and expecting to emerge clean.

When Jesus spoke to that prostitute the pharisees were about to stone to death..he did NOT say "GO and sin no more OR ELSE"....NOR did he condemn her..

Which makes you wonder why the FOLLOWERS of Jesus go out of their way to do and be the OPPOSITE of Jesus when all you hear from them is threats of torture and condemnation?

Its because they follow DARKNESS...because FEAR and DARKNESS..is all that ever comes out of their mouths..and thus..thats ALL that is IN their hearts.

FEAR and LOVE..CANNOT co exist.

Once again you prove my point by torturing yourself. God would give you comfort and peace if you repented and humbled yourself before Him. But, you won't do that and remain tortured by your own decisions... your own rejection of love and all that is good.

I know it's an old thread, but for the sake of anyone who reads afterwards, I thought I'd address a few points.



Your idea of perfection is not only flawed but unsound. Perfection is not purely defined as something which is not flawed (our definition of flaw also subject to erroneous interpretation) but can also be related to a state of completion. The world was good in the beginning, perfect, but that did not mean it was invulnerable. It was simply done. The work was finished. So you see, perfection in THAT sense is not only better understood but actually attainable, so when God says to be perfect even as He is perfect, he's not just setting an unreachable standard. He's encouraging you to keep going until your journey is done and you've reached the very end. Everyone can do that.



It doesn't, but fear is not something to be eradicated but faced and oftentimes managed. Thing is, people too often fear the wrong things for the wrong reason, and that's hard to uproot once it's settled. The fear you have correctly alluded to comes out of a segment that so many people are irrationally focused on and obsessed over, not the holistic belief and source itself. You have to look at the whole counsel, not just part of it.



Because he's sovereign over all, including darkness, and quite frankly, pain is often needed to reach and warn us against the things we shouldn't do. Sin is an issue that separates us from Him in the same manner that criminal activity separates us from good civil order. There are consequences to marching off the path of truth, and destruction, both material and spiritual, are clearly labeled consequences designed to KEEP us from doing them. He's trying to PROTECT us, NOT condemn us.



You've got mixed messages here. God is not driving out fear, love is, and the quote is incomplete. The full quote is, "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." As you can see, love is what is being addressed in this quote, more specifically, the love of God, and THAT is where Christians place their confidence. They don't fear judgement because the love of God is known to them, and they continue to grow in it on the path of being perfected, but those who do NOT know the love of God WILL be afraid and for good reason.



Not in the same space, no, but as I alluded to earlier, that is precisely why you have to manage and place it carefully. You don't walk around afraid of what God is going to do to you and use it is a reason to stay away from Him. It's that fear that's destroying you, not Him. You instead focus on the love He has offered to SAVE you from that fear, even the fear of death, so you don't have to be afraid. THAT is what the good news is about. Freedom from the fears and affairs of this world because of the world that is to come. That is the promise, but it won't be forced upon you. You have to choose. Is it life, hope, and love I'm going to focus on, or will death, fear, and despair dominate my thoughts? Either way, you'll have what you go for. That's the choice you have to make.

All4one, issue is, most of Christianity has latched onto Jesus' public or outer teachings, much of what is told to us in the much doctored and revised bible. What people need to realize, is that Jesus had a set of inner or secret teachings, that His apostles, family and close friends were privy to. These are the original teachings of Paul and the apostles, better known as the gnostic teachings. These are the true teachings of Jesus. Many of them can be found in the non-canonical Gospels that the church rejected on purpose. The true teachings of Jesus show us how to become the Christ in embodiment. Why would Jesus say "these things I have done you will do and greater". The biggest mistake of modern day Christianity is believing Jesus is God, and worshiping Him as God. That actually is breaking the commandment that refers to no graven images before God. I can assure you this brings more tears to the heavenly host than any other sin.
