I re-watched that movie recently and thought the same thing.

I never knew the original book to The Catcher In The Rye had a RED HORSE on the cover...the Apocalyptic 2nd Seal Revelation kind of horse maybe !

4/23/12 or 4-23-12 or April 23rd 2012, was interesting to hear in the movie. See it was suppose to be a combination to a lock, which is impossible for the type of lock, and what a perfect movie to actually slip something like that in. And even though people would have been scrutinizing over anything conspiracy related in that film, seems an overwhelming amount of people, still overlooked it! It got lost in the sea of the subject matter that surrounds the film, so people would'nt notice! I'm convinced something will happen that day..

This is strange. I did not watch the movie and know nothing about it, but for some reason that date is stuck in my head. Like it is a date I have to remember, but I know nothing in my world is important to that date and I have no appointments. But that date is stuck in my head since waking up this morning.

Why the fuck woudl the Illuminati place these references? it would seem only to serve as some silly fucking joke and purely for entertainment for those in the know. Is there some other reason I fail to see why they would 'clue' those in who are keen to see the references?

The best educated guess I could come up with is it's a Karma thing. First thing they teach in the occult arts is that you owe a Karmic debt for any and all magical workings regarding people, good or bad. With the Illuminati/Rosicrucians etc., they're Kabbalists, so if they're planning some 'ritual', like many believe 9/11 was, then they show us, or clue us in on what they're doing in order to be free from any Karmic debt. It's as if to say, "Hey, we showed you, and you didn't pay attention, so we're not responsible".. If you elected not to try and stop us, who are we to say it's wrong, we shouldn't do it, or that you (Masses) don't want us to do it.

4/24 is also the day before Richard Donner the Director's birthday.

Screenwriters, producers, Directors, Hollywood in general does this all the time. It is not a secret code forecasting apocalypse. It is GEEK-CHIC by dropping a strange reference that only insiders will know.

READ! 04/23/1962 is the days filming completed for the Manchurian Candidate, the movie wasn't released for 6 months. Hence 4/23/2012 is the 50th anniversary of the day filming finished.

Now besides that I also pointed out that it is the day before Richard Donner's the director of the film's birthday. He was born on April 24. It has nothing to do with the date, it is just a coincidence.

But you obviously don't understand that, and it is easier for you to think Sinister Forces are at work.

I understand inside references perfectly well - I majored in film in college and have friends and family in the industry.

So what if this year is the 50th anniversary of the completion of the filming of the Manchurian Candidate? Putting that in a movie released in 1997 makes no sense if it's suppose to be a homage. Now, if they put in either 10/24/62 or 4/23/62, THAT might make sense.

It's going to be a trippy long weekend to watch for sure...
