Funny how even in a close family unit...Mother/Father/Children how things like this go undiscussed. Quoting: ArunaLuna
Simple things like beliefs and intuitions...
To me should be a regular topic in a household of multiple people...
hear hear me hearties - sorry- couldn't resist
i think people don't talk about their beliefs etc because they can't really back up why they believe or what they believe
and how that marries with the reality of their experience
so they can't field ingenuous questions from clear minded kids on the subject
and avoid it
it's hard to talk when you have nothing sensible or considered to say- and let's face it- how many genuinely question or explore the foundation for their beliefs
and find a comfort zone of self understanding and purpose which is useful .
it is definitely a generational thing though - societal circumstances and their tendrils of influence !
i remain staggered at the breadth of life experiences the older generations didn't share with each other- or sometimes anyone !
how difficult to bear alone
we are so blessed to have the technology be able to find and communicate with synonymous minds who can accept and and share and offer understanding to life's richest tapestries of experience
shows us what interconnectedness yields and what we learn from it
