DGN, would you PLEASE consider availing yourself of this book. Judas WAS NOT THE BETRAYER! It was juda Ihariot son of a pharisee. [link to tweeofmeer.webs.com] Judas himself gives the truth along with "Jesus" in this book. And then after you read that, go to this version, as you will understand better where this version came from.

and forget that I posted below about the missing post, I didn't send it. I have to finish this later.
 Quoting: Nobody in Particular

Read a book about Jesus' betrayer? Seems more opportune to read about the living than the dead;
"The words of the wise ones are like oxgoads, and just like nails driven in are those indulging in collections [of sentences]; they have been given from one shepherd. 12 As regards anything besides these, my son, take a warning: To the making of many books there is no end, and much devotion [to them] is wearisome to the flesh." Ecc12:11
 Quoting: DGN

Good verse! This should apply to everything written after Ecclesiates - which would be any book included in the present day bible written after the 3rd century BC.
 Quoting: Da Purple Chicken

Ha! Cleaver girl Chicken but would you not want this for your children;
"“Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them.

4 “Happy are those who mourn, since they will be comforted.

5 “Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.

6 “Happy are those hungering and thirsting for righteousness, since they will be filled.

7 “Happy are the merciful, since they will be shown mercy.

8 “Happy are the pure in heart, since they will see God.

9 “Happy are the peaceable, since they will be called ‘sons of God.’ Mt5:3
 Quoting: DGN

"There is nothing new under the sun..."

The beatitudes did not originate with Jesus - they are from the Tanakh and Talmud
