" But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples were murmuring about this, said to them: “Does this stumble YOU? What, therefore, if YOU should behold the Son of man ascending to where he was before?  It is the spirit that is life-giving; the flesh is of no use at all. The sayings that I have spoken to YOU are spirit and are life.  But there are some of YOU that do not believe.” For from [the] beginning Jesus knew who were the ones not believing and who was the one that would betray him. So he went on to say: “This is why I have said to YOU, No one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.” Jo6:61

If Jesus was so famous, why did they need someone close to him to point him out? There should of been plenty of people that knew what he looked like, including the priests and pharisees. Never made a lick of sense to me.

And how did Judas really die anyway? The NT has two very different accounts - someone is lying.....

The purpose of the disciples as far as I've been told was to act as trainees to carry on his work after he was gone. This idea of an entourage to announce his arrival at a place or event is something I've never heard before.

Nooo, not predestined. Jesus just knew the thing because he is God.

1 Tim 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Rv.22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last...I Jesus have sent my angel to testify to you these things in the churches.

I'm thinking he knew Judas' heart when he showed lack of appreciation for Jesus' love;
Accordingly Jesus, six days before the passover, arrived at Beth′a‧ny, where Laz′a‧rus was whom Jesus had raised up from the dead. 2 Therefore they spread an evening meal for him there, and Martha was ministering, but Laz′a‧rus was one of those reclining at the table with him. 3 Mary, therefore, took a pound of perfumed oil, genuine nard, very costly, and she greased the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet dry with her hair. The house became filled with the scent of the perfumed oil. 4 But Judas Is‧car′i‧ot, one of his disciples, who was about to betray him, said: 5 “Why was it this perfumed oil was not sold for three hundred de‧nar′i‧i and given to the poor people?” 6 He said this, though, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief and had the money box and used to carry off the monies put in it. 7 Therefore Jesus said: “Let her alone, that she may keep this observance in view of the day of my burial. 8 For YOU have the poor always with YOU, but me YOU will not have always.” Jo12:1

"6 However, Jesus said to them: “They do not have to leave: YOU give them something to eat.” 17 They said to him: “We have nothing here but five loaves and two fishes.” 18 He said: “BRING them here to me.” 19 Next he commanded the crowds to recline on the grass and took the five loaves and two fishes, and, looking up to heaven, he said a blessing and, after breaking the loaves, he distributed them to the disciples, the disciples in turn to the crowds. 20 So all ate and were satisfied, and they took up the surplus of fragments, twelve baskets full. 21 Yet those eating were about five thousand men, besides women and young children. 22 Then, without delay, he compelled his disciples to board the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the crowds away." Re: Was Judas 'predestained' to betray Jesus? If so, was it a sin?
Judas was concerned for the poor. He was the treasurer for the disciples. He was tasked by Jesus to have the arrest take place away from the crowds to prevent a riot. As a former Pharisee, he was the man for the job.

Peter was also instructed to deny Jesus for his own protection. They would need him later.

Paul was never a true disciple, for he would not allow women any say in the matter. THAT was the source of division in the early church, the role of women, Mary Magdalene in particular.

He wasn't exactly alone;
"Now the festival of the unfermented cakes, the so-called Passover, was getting near. 2 Also, the chief priests and the scribes were seeking the effective way for them to get rid of him, for they were in fear of the people. 3 But Satan entered into Judas, the one called Is‧car′i‧ot, who was numbered among the twelve; 4 and he went off and talked with the chief priests and [temple] captains about the effective way to betray him to them. 5 Well, they rejoiced and agreed to give him silver money. 6 So he consented, and he began to seek a good opportunity to betray him to them without a crowd around." Right and so did Judas;
"Happy is the man that keeps on enduring trial, because on becoming approved he will receive the crown of life, which Jehovah promised to those who continue loving him. 13 When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone. 14 But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn, sin, when it has been accomplished, brings forth death." See? At least 5000 knew exactly what he looked like.

Plus, there are quite a few passages that tell about Jesus having conversations with the pharisees - they knew who he was and didn't need someone to point him out.

You know, the population of the world is dramatically higher toady than it was in the 1st century - estimated at around only 300 million - estimates for Judea run between only 200,000 to 400,000. If 5000 people sat and listened to Jesus, that's an entire 10% of the whole population in just that one day.

Everyone must have known who he was.

Not trying to give you a hard time DGN but really, think about it? Why did they need Judas?

It might have been predestined (if he didn't possess the normal Human free-will; ie, if he was some sort of Hybrid lower life form).

If he did have free will (was fully Human), then it wasn't predestined.

But either way, Jesus knew he would do it.

And either way, it was sinful.

Either way, he receives punishment (or loses the reward, soul salvation) for it. I'm not sure if suicide would be a proper atonement for what he did, but I doubt it because suicide is violence against the Self (the great commandment is "love God, Others, and Self").

So bottom line is, Judas was a very violent, hateful man. And he was unable to experience the joy of love.

DGN, would you PLEASE consider availing yourself of this book. Judas WAS NOT THE BETRAYER! It was juda Ihariot son of a pharisee. [link to tweeofmeer.webs.com] Judas himself gives the truth along with "Jesus" in this book. And then after you read that, go to this version, as you will understand better where this version came from.

and forget that I posted below about the missing post, I didn't send it. I have to finish this later.
 Quoting: Nobody in Particular

Read a book about Jesus' betrayer? Seems more opportune to read about the living than the dead;
"The words of the wise ones are like oxgoads, and just like nails driven in are those indulging in collections [of sentences]; they have been given from one shepherd. 12 As regards anything besides these, my son, take a warning: To the making of many books there is no end, and much devotion [to them] is wearisome to the flesh." Ecc12:11
 Quoting: DGN

Good verse! This should apply to everything written after Ecclesiates - which would be any book included in the present day bible written after the 3rd century BC.
 Quoting: Da Purple Chicken

Ha! Cleaver girl Chicken but would you not want this for your children;
"“Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them.

4 “Happy are those who mourn, since they will be comforted.

5 “Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.

6 “Happy are those hungering and thirsting for righteousness, since they will be filled.

7 “Happy are the merciful, since they will be shown mercy.

8 “Happy are the pure in heart, since they will see God.

9 “Happy are the peaceable, since they will be called ‘sons of God.’ Mt5:3
 Quoting: DGN

"There is nothing new under the sun..."

The beatitudes did not originate with Jesus - they are from the Tanakh and Talmud

The narrator seemed unable to exceed the "so called wisdom" with any of her own. Seemed like she was declining her invitation to Jehovah's kingdom, misery loves company?

Huh? How did you get that of the video?

Besides, you totally ignored discussing the info presented and instead, criticized the narrator. Whether or not she "got" the message of the scripture, either the original in the Tanakh or the sermon on the mount in the NT, is besides the point.

find and read the Book of Judas.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11045861

Let the dead bury the dead, the living read the living word of the living God;
"All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.' 2Ti3:16
 Quoting: DGN

That is a true statement...so why don't you do yourself?
Jesus Christ is God almighty......Your watchtower cult
has blinded you. Repent so you may understand the mystery
of godliness.Do not enter eternity espousing what you do about
The Living God...you are ill prepared to withstand the glory
of the one (Jesus) you call a created being.

I would remind the narrator of this;
"that you might command certain ones not to teach different doctrine,  nor to pay attention to false stories and to genealogies, which end up in nothing, but which furnish questions for research rather than a dispensing of anything by God in connection with faith.  Really the objective of this mandate is love out of a clean heart and out of a good conscience and out of faith without hypocrisy.  By deviating from these things certain ones have been turned aside into idle talk,  wanting to be teachers of law, but not perceiving either the things they are saying or the things about which they are making strong assertions." 1Ti1:1
