Re: Are you SAVED from DAMNATION?
Are you saved? If not consider Jesus Christ TODAY!
 Quoting: Veresanctus

No thanks. If you can get this sky pirate of yours to do a book signing or something like that then I might consider. But while he remains as invisibe and silent as all the other gods, I'm going to remain neutral and not choose one.
I offer the same to all believers in a god. Show me your god and I'll sign up. Show me nothing...and all you've got is nothing and I'm not buying :-)
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1594661

Instead of watching TV why not read the Holy Bible? It's full of love, and mercy, and righteousness, what could be wrong with those things?
 Quoting: Veresanctus

No it's not. It's full of hate, violence and vengeance.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27339405

If that's what you WANT to believe then go ahead, it's just not true.

"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another." -- Galatians 5:14-26

Please save me!!! I wanna go to imagionationland too!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1539321

Did you know that the united states of America was "imaginationland" until the founding fathers created it?

Being saved means that you will live forever instead of perishing and living with God in HIS kingdom that IS the most glorious kingdom you could ever imagine.

NO! Saved from DESTRUCTION (which is forever) by FAITH in Him who can save you from it, Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God who paid for YOUR sins/mistakes/lawlessness/misdeeds/wrongdoings/etc.

Re: Are you SAVED from DAMNATION?
OP, give it a rest mate. We really, really, REALLY don't care where we go when we die. Look at it this way. Before you were born you weren t aware of anything, nor were you prepared for this life. You learned as you went along.
Now IF there is an afterlife I can assure you that the same 'rules' will apply and whatever it may be you will figure it out and cope.
Basing what might be on an archaic hodge podge of mythos is just silly. It may be fun, it may be interesting but it's still just silly.
Not every person is born with a religious need. It's like sexuality, or taste in foods or hobbies.
We're all different :-)

I had an NDE a few years ago, Satan is very real, without Jesus' protection our souls are very vulnerable. I was a Christian but backslid right into atheism. I experienced some form of hell. As in, worst pain ever, very physical like pain but it can be felt in soul form! It seems some of us don't even know when we're sinning I am still very much struggling with sin, but I am trying to inch my way forward to God-approved righteousness. I want to save others, if only I could show them what I witnessed. I too have been feeling like the end is coming and hearing the warning messages like never before.

If push comes to shove, you "christians" can't even agree with yourselves. And when people don't agree with your perspective you shun them as atheist or whatever. Maybe for some of us it's indifferent. Maybe we are meek as they say. And we try to take everything into account. If the bible is a historical correct book, by that logic in giving things credit, then so is the Quran, the Tenach, the teachings of Buddha, Confucius, the Popol Vuh, and a vast range of others.

Take a gander, truthseeker. [link to en.wikipedia.org]
And while your at it, be sure to visit all your Jesus friends here. [link to en.wikipedia.org]

Truth be told, you don't know what the hell you're talking about. You're more of a Bible thumper than a real christian. If this bloke Jesus, if that's even his name, was what he was, you're nothing close to him.

What is so hard to understand about this?

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." -- (John 3:16-21 KJV)

Re: Are you SAVED from DAMNATION?
Y'all don't need to trust in the shed blood of Christ for your salvation - that only bought you face-time in the Throne Room.

If you are saved, you will never sin again......Simple. If you still sin - you are not saved from your sins, Jesus' shed blood notwithstanding.

So - we can all go and examine ourselves in our prayer closets and determine if we are saved or not by whether sin is present in us.....

1John 3:9 - Whoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

There you go. The litmus test of the scriptures.

Like David, Saul, Samson, Peter, Jonah, Solomon and other never did afer they got saved, right?

We don't have to agree with ourselves, we have to agree to the word of God.

What is the word of God? If you can read and understand the bible then you decide with the help of God.

Saved from a made-up hell, by simply spouting a phrase?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1473848

Not by spoting a phrase (one cay say things one doesn't believe) but by believing with all his heart and all his faith, in God, in His Son Jesus Christ, and in the sacrifice He made on the cross for saving everyone who believes in Him.

Yes, one has to believe, and believe with all of his heart and put all of his faith on Jesus Christ and his sacrifice on the cross alone to be saved.

Yes but like most others you do not provide the context... Those people believed a different Jesus, a Jesus that did not die for their sins. Notice they said "didn't we do many wonderful works?..." in response about their salvation. Works do not save, nor does your ability to not sin, only Jesus saves.

No, and don't talk to me about context when you're one spreading lies out of context. That's what false teachers and liars like to have people think when they peddle the gospel of Satan. Good luck with that. False teachers will often quote Matthew 7:22-23:

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:22-23

Then they draw a false conclusion that they are condemned because of their good works when Jesus never says anything even remotely close to that. But what false teachers won't do, is include the passage were he goes into details as to why they're turned away:

Matthew 25:31-46

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

It's the same hypocrisy that will have you quote Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

But coincidentally omitt how the verse continues:

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. What you're selling is the gospel of Satan.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. What you're selling is the gospel of Satan.
 Quoting: vedklyvare

Firstly we all know there are multitude of verses that simply say we are saved by faith and saved by simply believing on Jesus, so scripture cannot contradict scripture so if you find a seeming contradiction then our understanding of it is wrong. Secondly, if I must earn salvation or even work to keep it how is the gospel good news? and what if I got saved right before death and did no good works at all?... Thirdly, earning salvation or working to keep it would mean Jesus didn't pay for it or only paid for part of it, which is heresy.

Law does not equal deeds! Galatians continues thusly:

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1 John 3:9

...

And still people will call him "lord, lord" and be turned away...
 Quoting: vedklyvare

Yes but like most others you do not provide the context... Those people believed a different Jesus, a Jesus that did not die for their sins. Notice they said "didn't we do many wonderful works?..." in response about their salvation. Works do not save, nor does your ability to not sin, only Jesus saves.
 Quoting: Veresanctus

No, there aren't a multitude of verse, there are a handful, a handful of which cannot be understood out of context. There are however thousands of verses telling a different story. The entire bible is a testament to it even. How will Jesus separate the goats from the sheep? What is the meaning of repentance? Who are the children of Satan according to John?

He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD. Proverbs 17:15

Sure keep peddling your gospel of Satan... or you call listen to the voice of Jesus. The gate is narrow according to Jesus; according to you it's the widdest gate ever concieved. God is not mocked. Better get your wedding clothes ready.

Whether it's good news or not is up to you to decide I guess. Better keep a close eye on those heretics.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12

You're not saved yet, that for God to decide! There's going to be a lot of proud and confident hearts that day, I'm sure.

You totally and completely miss the point and are arguing for the sake of a straw man who doesn't exist while also ignoring the simple truth and grace of God in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Let me ask you a question...

Is it possible for a saved person to commit a sin yet have not sinned in Gods' eyes? (i.e. to break the Sabbath yet not be guilty of breaking it)

Another question...

Is it possible to break a law yet not guilty of breaking the spirit or purpose/meaning of that law? WHY?

No, that seem contrary to the word of God.

Work out your salvation with fear and trembling, the Bible says, but I'm sure you can find some teacher that will spin that somehow and tell you what your ears are itching to hear. It's not "once saved, always saved". What do you think the wedding clothes in the parable means? Hint, the filthy clothes removed from Joshua in Zechariah 3:3-6 represents sin.

Can you be saved without the holy spirit? So what if the spirit departs? God will not dwell in a unclean temple.

Being borned again biblically as in of water and spirit or the more conceptual, man-made interpretations, of being "born again"? Yes, the bible says it can be "undone".

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1 Corinthians 3:17

Acts 5:1-11

5 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.

8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
