My guess is confidence. It doesn't matter if it is fake, women like confidence. Many white guys tend towards sheepishness and that alone puts them out. Black guys will show their teeth, even if they are scared to death, hoping that the other guy (or whatever) will be more scared.
I am sure there are other considerations involved, but that is my take.
