Thank you Mr. Obama for this bullshit health care law that literally is destroying our health care industry. I have seen it 1st hand and it is pathetic! I have no desire to live off the gov't. I am cleaning houses, mowing yards, etc to make ends meet until I can find a job. There are slim pickings in my town unless you will work in health insurance. We are a hub for several large companies. It makes me sick. Thanks for the heads up on that website. I'll forward that info to my local newspaper and t.v. stations. maybe one day it will become important. |

A good friend works for Yahoo and has a 1000 square foot house in San Fran that he paid $550k for in 2005. I texted him this morning to wish him well today after I read about the Yahoo layoffs. He was waiting to see what the day would bring. The last time we had a wave of these layoffs it started around August of 2008. The internet was buzzing about the possibility of a stock market crash. Things got freaky real quick. We certainly are not in the condition as a nation that we were in in 2008. People are out of savings. Most households lost a considerable amount of income. We are on the edge after being kicked down the road for 4-5 years. To me the circumstances look very similar to the ones in late summer or 2008 only there is no safety net. All of the crooked cards have been played. Everyone is wise to the game. I am planting a mega garden this year - 50' x 70'. I started 1000s of seeds in Jiffy pots this year so I could get all my friends and family to start or increase their garden. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13832056 The mega garden is very smart. I need to see if I can do that, make it a family project. $$$ is tight and rapidly becoming worthless. The small savings right now is actually due to a tornado this past March! Got a small payout for hail damage to our car. It runs, not having the dents removed :) I have stocked up on the buy one get one free canned goods and other non parishable items. Attempting to learn the little things I'd never thought about until reading stuff on this site. I am totally new to the world of chatting/ blogging - all of the stuff that I should know :) Just so sad that this day has come. I am Disgusted by what my child is 'taught' at school. We camp in the backyard and while having fun, we are teaching our child how to purify water! |
