Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13669854 here's a little science craft I did last year with my students since I'm an esl teacher here in korea. we made those little peanut butter pine cone thingies with bird seed sprinkled on them. put them up in a park close to our school. came back after a week. all of our feeders were barely touched. and only one or two birds I ever see here on any day. and I've been here for almost 5 years. korea is just not a popular place of a hangout for birds? yeah it's a small country, but lots and lots of trees and mountains. can't understand it. I did 2 tours in Korea and there is not too much wild life altogether. A real lack of Birds, Squirrels Raccoon's, Possums, rabbits, little animals like that. My Tours: 1992 & 1999 |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1510541 United States 04/04/2012 03:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't imagine there are many birds up in North Korea because there aren't many random seeds or other forms of serendipitous food for them. Would wiping out the habitat for most birds n of the 38th also affect birds in the sun? I would think it would have to. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1510541 how can birds not thrive in a place with lots of trees? never heard of such a thing. Shit, dude, there are tons of trees at the timberline. Are there tons of birds up there, too? Just because there are trees doesn't mean there are seeds that birds like to eat. If the North Koreans are like locusts, eating even grass to survive, can't you imagine that they would have eaten all manner of seeds and blossoms and sprouts? |

When I first started feeding birds (in the USA) it took a long while for them to discover it. So it takes a long time for birds to show up at a feeder. Ask any bird enthusiast on when they started and they will tell you. |
