Everything Is Going Wrong In Europe Today!!!

Had no idea the problem was that bad in Portugal and Spain. Knew you guys had a debt crisis, but I thought it was more like ours here in the States. My heart goes out to you. When basic necessities to live are that hard to come by, while others live in their giant "palaces", denying anything is wrong. Sounds like the 21st century version of, "let them eat cake" to me. So apathetic, out of touch, and ignorant to the plight of those they see as, "useless eaters". How long before there is a modern "Bastille Day", across the entire EU zone?

I fear for the day it finally hits my doorstep here in the States. Which it will. Because the system is stretched to the breaking point, and our debt is also out of control. Austerity must, most assuredly follow. However here in the states we have the second amendment, i.e. armed populace. Things could get significantly more violent here. As I said before, I fear for the day.

I don't wish nothing wrong to no one. We are in a very bad condition. Yesterday i don't has money to heat and had to use a credit card to pay food in supermarket! I think i don't nead to say more...

Yes, my Greek friend, I am aware. Exactly the point I was trying to make. Here in the states people would start shooting, then the authorities would begin to retaliate. Vicious cycle would ensue.

But things here in the good ol' USA are just peachy! Jobs numbers are up (even though economists admit that they can't figure that one out). Paying high prices for gas would be a fine idea (after all, it should move us faster to that "wonderful green energy).

"I also don't mean to be too hypocitical as the US is following fast in Europe's doomed footsteps." In the U.S. a large segment of the population owns land, a house etc. This Private property is "Sacrosanct." We will defend it with our lives, for it IS OUR LIVES. We do not deny the right to ANYONE to be the master of their own fate. We are a generous people and we offer our wealth to a reasonable degree to help those who are less fortunate, but we will not sacrifice our own well being on a ridiculous socialist alter.

Luis, how are things in Portugal? It's one of the countries we'd like to visit at some point and we were wondering how things are going? We don't hear much.
