Hubby is having digestion problems, any ideas what it could be GLPers?

It could be loads of things.

If it's just a bug it should go away soon.

If it does not go away it could be cause by dozens of things for example:

He has become allergic to something in his diet.

Someone maybe putting something in his drink, poisoning him.

He could be over stressed.

If it just started 5 days ago, and he hasn't intorduced anything new to his diet, it's probably a bug. I've dealt with this most of my life, the only permanent solution for myself has been a very clean diet of only unprocessed and organic foods.

The one thing that can settle my stomach after eating almost anything is marijuana...it's my miracle drug for stomach issues...2 hits in the morning will settle my stomach all day, it keeps working long after the high wears off, I highly recommend if he is looking for some relief.

You might look into Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

IBS results in bloating in association with recurrent diarrhea (or constipation) and abdominal pain.

Also, does your husband take any dietary fiber supplements such as metamucil?

Too much fiber could cause the symptoms you described.

take paleo diet and detox and you'll see how quickly symptoms will disappear

(detox could be make feel temporally worst, cause the system is tying to flush toxic waste)

He's going to be really upset if I whip out the juicer and take away his carbs. Poor guy, I feel terrible for him.

He doesn't take any supplements but he does take a multivitamin, a flax oil capsule and a prilosec daily. I stopped sending the vitamins and flax oil in his lunch as soon as I learned he was having troubles.

I'll schedule a physical for him if it doesn't ease by Monday. I'm concerned because his mother has celiac's disease and I know it runs in families.

Gut flora problems. I have crohns and know how he feels. But i have a solution for you if you want to spend a few pennines :)

Please trust me when I say its really good stuff and works really well. Whats more it stops any swelling of the bowel.

the best way to know is to stop eating for a couple of days, just drink a lot and when the body is clean reintroduce one stuff at a time and observe witch one is not processed.

Yeah, you definitely want to write down what food your eating and when. You should be able to figure out what is causing it. I know whenever I eat food with yeast in it I get real bad IBS. He's probably just alergic to something, but you might want to consult with a doctor.

I'm sure that if it's a food allergy, we can figure out the culprit through the process of elimination.

I had a similar problem that almost became chronic. You can spend a fortune on Probiotics trying to reestablish a balanced gut. A seven dollar bottle of Acidophilus cured my symptoms. Chewing the capsules rather than swallowing them whole works best if the issue is in the upper GI tract.

Possibly candida in the intestines. Intake acidophilus pills (coated to bypass the stomach if possible) and some anti-yeast/anti-candida product from a health food store/pharmacy. Lower sugar/junk food intake for a couple weeks.

This will allow the good bacteria to regrow and keep the candida down again. Repeat if it happens again in the future and keep sugar down in the diet.

Oil of oregano is the most effective killer of candida yeast. Candida yeast creates a cancer hotel.

An exam can save your life, should he have polyps, they need to be removed. This is a must have checkup anyway.
