America is the definition of diversity. The melting pot of the world. We are completely different than any other country. Those who are similar only follow in our ways. They strive to be America but they are not. We are the leaders of the world and all others follow. Similarities? Yes but all originated in America.

The prototypical Aussie, the prototypical American are a bit brash, confident to the point of being pushy and aggressive to quieter nations, don't shy from a fight, outspoken and risk takers

The prototypical Canadian and Kiwi are quieter, less interested in making a big show, distrust others who are that way, see themselves as polite and considerate of others (although others may see that as cautious and at times timid) more introspective and independent. Less interested in aggression, less interested in making a big splash, more interested in pastimes like hiking, spending time with family and close friends, writing music...

You could also say as a result that Canadians and probably Kiwis are a bit more clannish, less open to outsiders, while Australians/Americans (the prototypical stereotype we're talking of) are a bit more "hail fellow, well met, all come around to the BBQ"

If you look you will see that the economic and geographic relationships between Australia and New Zealand parallel that of the United States and Canada. Mind you I liked most Aussies I met and some of them were simply the finest people I have ever known. But some of the Aussies were also not my cup of tea, while every Kiwi I met I found civil and decent and likeable.
