Magistrate derives from the Middle English word magistrat, denoting a "civil officer in charge of administrating laws" (c.1374); from the Old French magistrat; from the Latin magistratus, which derives from magister (master), from the root of magnus (great).

the word "magic" derives via Latin magicus from the Greek adjective magikos (μαγικός) used in reference to the "magical" arts of the Magicians (Greek: magoi, singular mágos, μάγος); the Zoroastrian astrologer priests. Greek mágos is first attested in Heraclitus (6th century BC, apud. Clement Protrepticus 12) who curses the Magians and others for their "impious rites".

The word summon has different definitions.

sum·mon (smn)
tr.v. sum·moned, sum·mon·ing, sum·mons
1. To call together; convene.
2. To request to appear; send for. See Synonyms at call.
3. Law To order to appear in court by the issuance of a summons.
4. To order to take a specified action; bid: summon the captain to surrender.
5. To call forth; evoke:

If I summon up a smile it doesn't mean im a dark magician.

and as for the robes

"After the war, many of the Founding Fathers, led by Thomas Jefferson, wanted to get rid of every vestige of that era and proposed that judges wear suits instead of robes. However, there were others, led by John Adams--he was, coincidentally, a lawyer by profession--who argued for keeping the British custom of judicial clothing.

The Compromise
Eventually, both sides reached a compromise: ditch the wigs, keep the robes. Over the next two and a half centuries, the robes became simpler, morphing into the plain, flowing black robes judges wear today"
