Magnetosphere don't protect us from EM radiation only from CME's or solar winds and there are very different things ..

Also think this is one of reason way we have more seizmic activity and we will have more stronger and frequent in future ..

We don't know (for sure) what has happened on this earth over the past millions of years. It's possible (and has been brought forth in theory) that something similar occured during the days of the dinosaurs and that it possibly occurs on a natural cycle every so often (100K years ??)

To many unknowns, but it's hard for me to fathom that the manmade emissions are the cause. In the scope of all the things that release carbon emissions (i.e volcanic eruptions, deep sea vents, etc.), manmade emissions is a very small percentage.

Every 12,000 years, on average, there is an ice-age of some various intensity; this is caused by increased volcanism due to passing through the ecliptic of the galaxy center and an incoming massive planetary body. Much earlier G.E. Lovelock wrote his scientific essay "GAIA".

Nobody of influential "leaders" payed attention for several decades.

He stated a theory of the Earth as a collective living organism with certain back-loop abilities which are disrupted by our industrial boom without deeper knowledge of the great nature mechanism of interchanging main life supporting elements / chemical substances in our troposphere and ionosphere and chemical reactions involved.

Changes in under-oceans currents contribute to mixing upper and lower waters and heating the bottom to release more and more methane from former permafrosts from the bottom.
