Obama confuses sorrow with doubt and fear in an oddly disturbing Bible interpretation
Here is what I don't get. The quote Obama is discussing here is from Mark 14:34 and it says Jesus was sorrowful but nowhere does Jesus express doubt or fear but that is what Obama claims. I think Obama is projecting his own fear and doubt onto Jesus where there is none and never was any.

King James
And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

International Version
"My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death," he said to them. "Stay here and keep watch."

scratching

At an Easter Prayer Breakfast he hosted for Christian clergy at the White House on Wednesday, President Barack Obama said Jesus “knew doubt” and had “doubts"

“For like us, Jesus knew doubt,” Obama said. “Like us, Jesus knew fear. In the garden of Gethsemane, with attackers closing in around him, Jesus told His disciples, ‘my soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death.’”

Re: Obama confuses sorrow with doubt and fear in an oddly disturbing Bible interpretation
Yup, this is actually a great insult to Jesus Christ. Obama was basically saying that Jesus was a sinner which in turn implies that He couldn't be the blameless 'passover Lamb'(sacrifice) and died for our sins. Doubt towards God is sin, while having fear is an evidence of an incomplete/faulty love. Jesus had neither. He did not doubt God ever, nor was He ever afraid. Because of this He was worthy to take the sins of the world upon Himself.

Obama is a muslim deceiver and an enemy of Jesus Christ and Christians need to see him for who he is.
The Truth About Thread: The FINAL EVENTS Of Bible Prophecy

"We here are of the conviction that the papacy is the seat of the true and real Antichrist." - Martin Luther (Aug. 18, 1520)

"While God has given ample evidence for faith, He will never remove all excuse for unbelief. All who look for hooks to hang their doubts upon will find them. And those who refuse to accept and obey God's Word until every objection has been removed, and there is no longer an opportunity for doubt, will never come to the light" (The Great Controversy, p. 527).

"Jesus did not come to change the law, but he came to explain it, and that very fact shows that it remains, for there is no need to explain that which is abrogated." - Charles Spurgeon

"Jesuit Adam Weishaupt established the modern version of the Illuminati specifically to be a front organization behind which the Jesuits could hide. After being formally abolished by Pope Clement XIV in 1773, the Jesuits used the Illuminati and other organizations to carry out their operations. Thus, the front organizations would be blamed for the trouble caused by the Jesuits."

Well said, though no man is truely an "enemy" of Jesus. He is confused, and deceived. God calls all of us, especially the worst sinners.

obama didn't confuse anything!

When you know you're a major piece of human excrement & unwilling to "right" yourself, you try to bring the righteous, that you despise so much, down to your level even if its the KINGS of Kings & LORD of Lords!

It'll surly suck to be him on judgement day.

He is a public official up for re-election so we definitely can judge his record as President. Here he is speaking at the White House at a public event so it is fair to try to figure out what the hell he is saying.

Nothing in your thread has anything to do with his Presidential record sorry.

You are judging him in ways that can only truly be known to God, so again, you are judging a man as only God may judge him according to the words of the Christ.

Good luck with your own personal interpretations of scripture! Fingers crossed lol!

"To judge" means "to make a distinction" or "to separate." We are responsible for judging between truth and error.

Nobody is condemning your messiah, "Obungler", as only God can do that; but we are allowed to see him for what he is. He is a liar and he is lawless but enjoy drinking the his messianic kool-aid.

Fear and doubt stem from a lack of trust and a lack of faith in the love and power and provision of The Almighty.

God does not lack such things, nor does The Son Of God. Fear and doubt are not attributes of God, nor are they attributes of The Son Of God.

You ignoramus, we're supposed to exercise discernment and judge good from evil. The bible verse saying we're not to judge others has to do with exacting final judgment on someone. To understand this, read the biblical story about the Pharisees wanting to stone to death the adulterer and what Christ said, and learn the "law of first mention" when it comes to understanding the bible. Most Christians don't even understand this.

Having an Easter prayer breakfast is just more Taqiyah on his part.

Taqiyah: To deceive in order to attain your end goals, even if it goes against islam. A perfect example is that a terrorist would be permitted to shave his beard and drink alcohol in order to fit in so that he won't be found out.

I think obama showed a sort of maching(sp.) tone & was a little "giggly". Satan doesn't like it much when his minions try to talk highly of his adversaries even for self-serving purposes. Remember it's an election year. So Satan will influence behaviors. JUST A THOUGHT.

The moments in the Garden of Gethsemane were a very human moment of Jesus, who knew the impending events. It is off topic to talk only about these moments, while ignoring the Resurrection this contemporary Easter. This observation of sorrow had nothing to do with doubts, but was a deep notion of spiritual depth, as the OP states.
"With an eye made quiet by the power of harmony and the deep power of joy, we see into the life of things." William Wordsworth

And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe—the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God.

John F. Kennedy Inaugural Address

Lincoln's economic advisor Henry C. Carey explained the universal issue in his 1851 Harmony of Interests:

"Two systems are before the world.... One looks to pauperism, ignorance, depopulation, and barbarism; the other to increasing wealth, comfort, intelligence, combination of action, and civilization. One looks towards universal war; the other towards universal peace. One is the English system; the other ... the American system, for ... elevating while equalizing the condition of man throughout the world."

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." - Albert Einstein
