It seems either a small desert island by yourself OR at the top of a high rise where other peoples freedoms won't bother you. I guess the point is GET OVER YOURSELF! |

Back then they didn't recommend wearing ear protection. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 842983 Sorry to hear that there is a human cost. too. But some seem to be thinking that wanting to hear the beauty and silence of nature is not in the realm of freedoms and no matter what the cost grass must be kept as low as possible. An that defines their freedom. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1374417 04/08/2012 01:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I agree. My neighborhood is a madhouse. Lawnmowers or leaf blowers, or aerators, or car vacs. Then somebody has a crew in to take up their sidewalk, or put on a new roof, or the trash trucks are making their rounds (three days a week because everyone uses a different company). Not to mention that that every truck and suv in the neighborhood has that throaty exhaust system that sounds like a semi, and all the small cars have exhausts that sound like lawnmowers with megaphones. I think they're missing the point of the purpose of a muffler. Then there are the dogs. Bark and bark and bark. The worst one is my roommates and dwells ten paces from my ear. A hulking 120 pound Great Pyrenees that is literally the worst thing in my life. Not just now, but ever. Thank god his other two dogs only bark half as much. The cherry on top? The wretched high-pitched screaming of the wonderful neighborhood kids. Absolutely maddening. They could be getting brutally raped, tortured, and kidnapped and no one could tell the difference from their regular playing screams. I don't even check anymore. |

What isn't garden or fruit trees is pine needles, I moved out of the city almost 50 years ago. Another question is how do you know they cut the lawn during the week? Shouldn't you be at work or in school? |

There are people who post extreme comments like yours just to get a response. Well, here's yours: If we all defined freedom that way we would have anarchy. Just because we are free to do something doesn't mean we should do it. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13974494 I remember my grandma had the old fashion kind that you just hand pushed and it cut the grass just fine... no noise... someone should just start making those again and selling them... Nobody mows their lawns ever around where I live in a bit up from bayshore blvd in Tampa, or very very very rarely... the grass here really does not grow past a certain point... lots of sandy ground... atleast in my little neighborhood here... |
