Elenin, rapture, race war, earthquakes, tsunamis, Planet x No.4 reactor, etc... It's all so confusing.

Which doom is going to get me first?

In order to avoid a Radiation Signature big enough to be seen from Space ( hence gaining bad notoriety ) , the Japanese government decided to SPREAD the radioactive debris all over Japan !!!

City in Tochigi Wants Disaster Debris, So It Can Upgrade Disposal Site on the Government Money
Kanuma City, located just west of Utsunomiya City (prefectural capital of Tochigi), wants to help people in the disaster-affected Miyagi and Iwate Prefectures by accepting the ashes resulting from the burning of the disaster debris elsewhere.

If you read the news by Shimotsuke Shinbun (local Tochigi newspaper), it seems the city is correctly seeing the wide-area disposal of the small amount of disaster debris (less than 20% of total) as an excellent opportunity to have the national government foot the bill for upgrading the waste management facilities and doing the badly needed deferred maintenance.

By no means Kanuma is unique among the cities who have expressed eagerness to accept disaster debris over the concerns of the local residents and residents downwind/downstream.

To the city's request for financial support, the Ministry of the Environment said "yes".

Dear CitizenPerth ,

If moving on the East coast of Perth means ( as I looked on the map ) more inland that's a healthy thought .

If you seen my thread about the Antarctic Mega Volcano ( that seems can not be Pinned due to an Evil Force ! ) you made the right decision .

All indicators right now following the AMSU show a tremendous amount of magma emerging between Africa and Madagascar . It is like the Fracture obviously seen slicing the East Africa is about to became wider involving a Tsunami .... Perth would be some eight hours away from the wave ...

So here , please stand by not Only for the Antarctic Mega Volcano but also for East Africa/Madagascar with the Kilimanjaro volcano being a first signal .

Do you own a power boat with a wide range ? Keep it at ready and fully supplied .

Thread: Mega Volcano Active Now near surface in Antarctica , Proved !

In 2009, the number of suicides rose 2 percent to 32,845 exceeding 30,000 for the twelfth straight year and equating to nearly 26 suicides per 100,000 people.[10]

This amounts to approximately one suicide every 15 minutes.[3] In comparison, the UK rate is about 9 per 100,000, and the US rate around 11 per 100,000.[3]

interesting.. suicide is linked very highly to many factors; of which a few are valuable here, and not in numerical order....

1. a feeling of suppression of worth, if one feels worthless or unable to express their anxnt(s*).

2. an inability to continue live given circumstances that appear to a person as being useless, pointless or counter-productive.

3. Being unable to express to the closest to one, the feeling of dread, inability to succeed, to progress or to be of any further use as an individual.

4. Fear of the future at large as perceived as an individual...

Anti Nuke Protesters Against the Restart of Ooi Nuke Plant in Front of Fukui Pref. Government Bldg, Police Trying to Block Them

Why? Because Yukio Edano is in the building, meeting with the Fukui governor and his officials for the re-start of the plant.

Yasumi Iwakami's IWJ USTREAM (live):

Tweets from Japan say they are even blocking the reporters from other parts of Japan, magazines, newspapers, from the press conference.

They also say Edano entered from the back entrance. People are shouting at the stone-faced officials.

Why haven't they been dragging those rods out one by one all this time? It's been a YEAR already
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5549032

The infrastructure needed to extract the rods has been damaged.

The rods need to be kept within the coolant water AT ALL TIMES. The zirconium reacts with oxygen (air) by catching fire!!

The rods are extremely hot and very very very radioactive. The coolant water also acts as a shield.

There isnt anywhere to put them if you did extract them.

These little facts are the reason among many why they havent pulled any out yet. I didnt know it, but read recently that the common fuel pool is only 50 meters away.
And it contains over 6000 rods. The scenario is scary. It wont take much for the sfp to collapse. Even last year they were saying that concrete was "dropping" down from the pool.
If it does collapse, the result would be an enormous horrible mess of melted fuel, bubbling away exposed to the air, buried under rubble. And hot hot hot!!!

The scenario is actually too scary to think of. The next problem of course would be the simply enormous radiation output, that would instsantly completly leave no choice but to abandon the site. Fullstop. Then the flowon effect would take out close by reactors in the area, (I think there are three FACILITIES nearby) which would become as part of fukushima in meltdowns etc...in other words, the collapse of sfp 4 would initiate the end of Japan in a very real sense.

And we have known about this problem for a while now, I have been telling everyone, but no one wants to listen, aparently its all "doom and gloom" They are all talking about it as if it just happened? Im personally over it all myself, now I just dont care, the world has really gone mad, and I have "given up" I just want to play skyrim and pretend to live in my own world, smoking bush tomatoes helps too, goodbye cruel world...its over.....

Here , please enjoy a suzing herbal tea :

Herbal Tea from Miyagi Had 20,290 Bq/Kg of Radioactive Cesium

Jiji Tsushin (4/14/2012):

Miyagi Prefecture announced on April 14 that 20,290 becquerels/kg of radioactive cesium was detected from the herbal tea produced by a manufacturer in Zao-machi in Miyagi Prefecture, more than 200 times the national safety limit (100 becquerels/kg).

It was 17,200 becquerels/kg according to the manufacturer's own testing. By April 14, about 40 sets of 1,100 sets of the tea already shipped had been recalled.

The herbal tea is in the powder form. About 1.5 grams of the tea powder is used to make one cup of tea, making each drink with 30 becquerels of radioactive cesium. Nothing to worry about, the prefectural government says, as if all the radioactive cesium people ingest is from this tea alone.

I suppose the prefectural government doesn't test unless they are told by the national government to test, and the national government probably didn't know about this tea. Just like they (claim they) didn't know about rice hay fed to the cows. Or leaf compost. Or shiitake cultivation substrate. Or crushed stones. Or firewood to smoke bonito. Or .... " .

Thermocouples are more sturdy thermometers , not the britle glass ones .
Knowing that you can imagine the molecular stress that the sorounding radiaton puts on those thermocouples to the point of desintegration ... it's NOT the heat that destroys them it's the radiation .

Now we understand further why the 7,900 radioactive rods could not be touched by a robot in over a year ...

And therefore we can only IMAGINE the amount of radiation generated 24/7 right now !!

#Fukushima I Nuke Plant Reactor 2: Another Thermocouple on Pressure Vessel Dies

Another thermocouple goes kaput on the Reactor 2 Pressure Vessel.

From Jiji Tsushin (4/15/2012) :

Reactor 2 Pressure Vessel thermocouple deemed abnormal after jumping 6 degrees Celsius instantly, says TEPCO.

TEPCO announced on April 15 that one of the thermocouples installed at the bottom of the Reactor 2 Pressure Vessel at Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant jumped 6.1 degrees Celsius in an instant on April 14 night.

TEPCO investigated, as the rise in temperature was abnormal. The resistance was found to be too high, and on early April 15 TEPCO decided to exclude the thermocouple from the list of instruments that are regularly monitored because there was a doubt on the reliability of the thermocouple.

Knowing the population of Japan at over 127 millions we can extrapolate the cancer cases in the near future ( if not already occuring but not properly reported ) .

In Brazil has been done already :

2004 Study: Two of Brazil's High Background Radiation Areas Have Higher Cancer Mortality

I have been told numerous times that "People in naturally high background radiation areas in the world suffer no ill effect from the high radiation." I just stumbled upon one study in 2004 on such areas in Brazil.

Conclusion of this particular study :

Cancer mortality in "Poços de Caldas, and Guarapari is higher than would be expected for their respective reference population", whereas "cancer mortality for the Araxá population is lower than would be expected".

High Levels of Natural Radiation and Radon Areas: Radiation Dose and Health Effects, Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on High Levels of Natural Radiation and Radon Areas, Osaka, Japan
6–10 September 2004

.... Results show that cancer mortality from the Brazilian HBRAs, Poços de Caldas, and Guarapari is higher than would be expected for their respective reference population.
On the other hand, cancer mortality for the Araxá population is lower than would be expected .... " .

Should we be Shocked by the results ?!

All atomic power to halt 'momentarily' ,
Kyodo

Operations at all of Japan's 54 nuclear power plants will be suspended "for a moment" starting on May 6, trade minister Yukio Edano said in a speech in the city of Tokushima Sunday.

His comment suggests the government will be unable to restart reactors 3 and 4 at the Oi plant in Fukui Prefecture by May 5, when the Tomari nuclear power plant will go offline for a regular inspection.

All 54 reactors except for No. 3 at the Tomari plant have been taken offline for scheduled checkups. They have stayed offline because operators have been unable to overcome safety concerns sparked by the meltdowns at the Fukushima No. 1 plant last year.

The government had been trying to restart the Oi reactors before the shutdown of the last reactor at Tomari, apparently fearing that the political hurdles to restart them will be higher if all 54 are stopped at once.

Antinuclear activists have argued Japan can get by without atomic power, while the state and its utilities have warned of power shortages this summer if all the units are stopped.",

Move to restart Oi's reactors blasted as misinformed haste

Assurances Friday by Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda and key ministers that two idled reactors are safe to restart has drawn fire from the public that the government is moving way too quickly to bring atomic power plants back online, given the disastrous meltdowns last year at the Fukushima No. 1 plant.

The safety declaration for the two reactors at Kansai Electric Power Co.'s power plant in the town of Oi in Fukui Prefecture was issued after Noda and three ministers scrambled to cobble together extra safety standards for the reactors in just three days.
The quartet then simply announced the reactors had cleared the new criteria just a week later — on the same day that a suspected North Korean missile was launched.

That sequence of events has raised skepticism that the Noda administration may be rushing to fire up Oi's reactors by May 5, when the only reactor still up and running will be closed for a mandatory checkup.

The reactors in question, units 3 and 4, were idled for routine checkups and sit on the coast of the Sea of Japan, looking over Wakasa Bay. To the southeast, in adjacent Shiga Prefecture, is Lake Biwa, a major source of drinking water for western Japan.

But some of the government-approved safety measures Kepco promised will take years to complete.

The Fuel Pools of Fukushima: THE GREATEST SHORT-TERM THREAT TO HUMANITY

This detailed report by our Contributor Washington Blog must be read very carefully.

The World is at a critical crossroads. The Fukushima disaster in Japan has brought to the forefront the dangers of Worldwide nuclear radiation. The crisis in Japan has been described as "a nuclear war without a war".

Nuclear radiation --which threatens life on planet earth-- is not front page news in comparison to the most insignificant issues of public concern, including the local level crime scene or the tabloid gossip reports on Hollywood celebrities.

The implications of this report must be understood. Public opinion worldwide must be informed so that meaningful actions can be taken without delay in support of the Japanese teams.

Spread the word. Forward this report far and wide. Post it on Facebook.

It is essential to put pressure at all levels of government, nationally and internationally to take all actions necessary to avert an impending catastrophe, which in a very real sense threatens the future of humanity.

-"Based on U.S. Energy Department data, assuming a total of 11,138 spent fuel assemblies are being stored at the Dai-Ichi site, nearly all, which is in pools. They contain roughly 336 million curies (~1.2 E+19 Bq) of long-lived radioactivity.

About 134 million curies is Cesium-137 — roughly 85 times the amount of Cs-137 released at the Chernobyl accident as estimated by the U.S. National Council on Radiation Protection (NCRP). The total spent reactor fuel inventory at the Fukushima-Daichi site contains nearly half of the total amount of Cs-137 estimated by the NCRP to have been released by all atmospheric nuclear weapons testing, Chernobyl, and world-wide reprocessing plants (~270 million curies or ~9.9 E+18 Becquerel).

It is important for the public to understand that reactors that have been operating for decades, such as those at the Fukushima-Dai-Ichi site have generated some of the largest concentrations of radioactivity on the planet." (Robert Alvarez, former Senior Policy Adviser to the Secretary and Deputy Assistant Secretary for National Security and the Environment at the U.S. Department of Energy)

The Greatest Single Threat to Humanity: Fuel Pool Number 4

We noted days after the Japanese earthquake that the biggest threat was from the spent fuel rods in the fuel pool at Fukushima unit number 4, and not from the reactors themselves. See this and this.We noted in February:

Scientists say that there is a 70% chance of a magnitude 7.0 earthquake hitting Fukushima this year, and a 98% chance within the next 3 years.

Given that nuclear expert Arnie Gundersen says that an earthquake of 7.0 or larger could cause the entire fuel pool structure collapse, it is urgent that everything humanly possible is done to stabilize the structure housing the fuel pools at reactor number 4...........

#Fukushima I Nuke Plant: TEPCO to Send a New Robot to Reactor 2 Torus Room

The robot, "Survey Runner", is made by Topy Industries Co. in Tokyo, and looks like a smaller version of Quince.

The robot is going into the Torus Room of Reactor 2 on April 18.

From TEPCO's handout for the press, English, on April 17, 2012 :

③ Multiple Communication Methods

Remote control of the robot by wireless communication is difficult due to thick walls
and other interference inside the reactor building.

The “Survey Runner” has a
tethered communication method (400 m long optical fiber cable) equipped with an
automatic wind-up and extension mechanism which enables remote control from
outside the reactor building.

Edano: All reactors to be idle / Comment indicates Oi reactors' restart unlikely in near future
The Yomiuri Shimbun

All the nation's nuclear reactors will be shut down "momentarily from May 6 onward," Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Yukio Edano has said, once Hokkaido Electric Power Co. halts operations at the No. 3 reactor of its Tomari nuclear power plant on May 5 for regular inspections.

Edano's statement was the first time a government official has said all the nation's nuclear reactors will be shut down. The No. 3 reactor at Tomari is the only one now in operation.

Edano made the comment during a lecture at a hotel in Tokushima on Sunday, reflecting the government's view it will be difficult to restart the Nos. 3 and 4 reactors at Kansai Electric Power Co.'s Oi nuclear power plant in Fukui Prefecture before the Tomari No. 3 reactor is halted.

The Oi reactors also have been shut down for inspections.

Edano on Saturday sought the Fukui prefectural and Oi municipal governments' approval to restart the Oi reactors, but his remarks Sunday reflected the government's view that reactivation will likely take some time. ....

`... Studying data acquired on 19 February and 21 March, scientists from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory have detected a ground shift of about 2.5 m eastwards and a downward motion of Honshu Island’s east coast. ... ``

`... Scientists from Italy’s Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia have used the same Envisat data to show a large portion of the surface displacement, with a maximum shift of 2.5 m. These first results, covering an 800 km-long strip over Sendai and Tokyo, show movement far away from the epicentre (denoted by the red star in the top image) in the Pacific Ocean.

The complex technique being used by the scientists is known as ‘InSAR’ – synthetic aperture radar interferometry.
It combines before and after radar images of the same ground location from the same position in space in such a way as to detect ground motion down to a few millimetres.

These analyses could only be made now because Envisat’s orbit repeats every 30 days. After capturing the area on 19 February –before the earthquake – Envisat’s repeat scan from the same position in space came on 21 March. Envisat is still making repeat visits to cover the full area. .... `` .

Bicycle Baskets Imported from China Found with Cobalt-60, Bridgestone to Recall

" ... It was first reported to Bridgestone by a buyer of the bicycle, alerting the company that the basket attached to the bicycle was emitting radiation. Bridgestone had the baskets tested, and found the source of radiation to be cobalt-60. The baskets were imported from China, according to Bridgestone.

From the press release by the Ministry of Education and Science (MEXT) on April 18, 2012:

•Report from Bridgestone Cycle Company to MEXT at about 4:10PM on April 17 that radiation was detected from the baskets installed on the bicycles that the company sells.

•The bicycles were assembled at the Ageo Factory [in Saitama Prefecture].

•7.5 to 10.6 microsieverts/hour radiation was detected on the surface of the baskets at 1 centimeter.

•The baskets were imported from overseas.

•86 bicycles out of 1,145 in the inventory were also found with radiation. The bicycles were assembled between November 2011 and January 2012 .... " .
