Now this is a welcomed news because it involves powerful interests and great inconvenience ( say the least economically ) for the Japanese population and industries .

Only totally Freaked out Scientists ( feeling very guilty for being Dorks in the past and allow the construction of nuclear reactors on Known Active fault lines ! ) , now to redeem themselves short of Harakiry , they probably SCREAMED in the face of ignorant politicians and psychopathic industrialists : DANGER , over 7,900 Radioactive Rods are Ready to enter the Pacific with the next 7+ earthquake !!

Or , it could be STARTLING Medical Reports about the mega numbers of cancers expressed around the one year marker ...

Also , Ponder , here we have a Japanese ( supposedly ) news website that Cites Reuters for ... Japanese critical News available from the Japanese Ministry ... Hmmm .

Japan to be without nuclear power after May 5

REUTERS

2012/04/19

Japan will within weeks have no nuclear power for the first time in more than 40 years, after the trade minister said two reactors idled after the Fukushima disaster would not be back online before the last one currently operating is shut down.

.... and here , more depressing news :

16 Becquerels/kg of Radioactive Cesium from Milk for Japan's Imperial Family

That's the headline of the latest issue of Shukan Shincho, a Japanese weekly magazine.

The imperial family has the 252-hectare Imperial Stock Farm managed by the Imperial Household Agency. It is located in Takanezawa-machi in Tochigi Prefecture, and it produces organic vegetables, eggs, meat, and milk for use in the imperial household.

Part of northan Kanto - Ibaraki, Tochigi, and Gunma - has had elevated levels of radiation since the Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant accident last year.

Vegetables, mushrooms, teas, and beef from the area have been found with levels of radioactive cesium exceeding the old provisional safety limit of 500 becquerels/kg. But the Imperial Household Agency has kept sending the produce from the Farm to the Imperial Household with young children as if nothing has happened..... `

You ought to go to the web site to see the photo ( that I could not copy here ) and see the honest comment on a T-shirt about TEPCO = Tokyo Electric Power Company that owns and operates Fukushima and most of the Japanese reactors .

Bread and becquerels : a year of living dangerously
Nuclear disaster has turned family routine on its head

By GIANNI SIMONE

" ..... I began to suspect something was wrong when I heard about groups of parents who were organizing in the Kanto region to put pressure on the government and local authorities to come clean about the true extent of radioactive contamination from the accident. ... " .

" ... Looking back at the life my family used to lead before that fateful Friday afternoon — when the earthquake ruined the pizza party I was enjoying with friends — it's frightening how much it has changed.

For one thing, there's my daily diet. All of a sudden spinach and other risky foods are out, while apples are in. We have also added apple pectin to our diet because it helps sweep out radioactive dust particles from the intestines (apparently it was used extensively after the Chernobyl disaster).

We now know stuff we did not really care about before. We feel like last year we took a crash course in science (e.g. cesium, strontium and plutonium's half-lives, and their effects of the human body), technology (how to use and read a Geiger counter) and history (how the triad of national government, bureaucracy and industry ruthlessly imposed nuclear energy as the fuel source of choice, and later launched a wide-ranging construction program that over the years has turned Japan into the world's third nuclear power).

Indeed, keeping out of reach of the long arms of nuclear death, or even trying to limit the damage, is a 24/7 job. Wearing masks and brushing our clothes after coming home have become as natural as washing our hands or taking a shower..... " .

More shocking disclosure in the story
about living with radiation , we need to Learn this .

Japan records biggest fiscal year trade deficit

English.news.cn 2012-04-19 09:42:53

TOKYO, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Japan's trade deficit in the past fiscal year ending in March stood at 4.41 trillion yen (about 54. 19 billion U.S. dollars), marking the worst ever reading for the country, the Finance Ministry said Thursday.

A preliminary trade report released by the ministry showed the country posted a trade deficit of 82.6 billion yen in March alone, as it continued to import oil and gas to fight a power shortfall.

The record trade deficit was attributed to factors including the March 11 disasters, the massive flooding in Thailand and the appreciation of the yen in the past year.

This name reminds me of Blazers as per Mega Star Explosions .... coincidence ?

Please consider from the UPN that Gravity doesn't Act in Straight line but in a spiral , so planet or stars alignemnet will actually dimish the total Gravity vector .

[link to UPNtheory.WordPress.com]

There is an experiment here involving a Pendulum with measuraments taken during a total sun eclipse .

What is Your interpretation of the Graph showing the data ?

[link to home.netcom.com]

I am bringing this in because in my mind the connection between Gravity and Tectonics is solid .

More interesting Gravity thoughts : the Moon receids away from Earth at one centimeter a year ! What ... pulls ??

Or are short periods every month when the Moon gets an extra pul ? No detail observations on that one but the UPN predicts a periodicity in the way the Moon moves over that one centimeter a year distance .

Mind the Gap in #Fukushima Reactor 3 Containment Vessel Equipment Hatch

TEPCO now admits that there is a gap in the shield plug on the Containment Vessel of Reactor 3, and the water may have leaked from the equipment hatch flange into the reactor building.

What a surprise.
Last November, TEPCO sent a Packbot inside the Reactor 3 building and had it survey the guide rails in front of the same equipment hatch.
The robot detected the maximum 1.6 sievert/hour radiation, and the guide rails filled with water and sludge-like material.
The robot was seen trying to wipe off the water with cloth.
There was no further announcement from TEPCO on this, until today (April 19, 2012) ...... “ .

Robert Alvarez: "The Fukushima Nuclear Disaster Is Far From Over"

From Huffington Post (4/22/2012):

Spent reactor fuel, containing roughly 85 times more long-lived radioactivity than released at Chernobyl, still sits in pools vulnerable to earthquakes.

More than a year after the Fukushima nuclear power disaster began, the news media is just beginning to grasp that the dangers to Japan and the rest of the world are far from over.

After repeated warnings by former senior Japanese officials, nuclear experts, and now a U.S. Senator, it's sinking in that the irradiated nuclear fuel stored in spent fuel pools amidst the reactor ruins pose far greater dangers than the molten cores. This is why:

• Nearly all of the 10,893 spent fuel assemblies sit in pools vulnerable to future earthquakes, with roughly 85 times more long-lived radioactivity than released at Chernobyl

• Several pools are 100 feet above the ground and are completely open to the atmosphere because the reactor buildings were demolished by explosions. The pools could possibly topple or collapse from structural damage coupled with another powerful earthquake.

• The loss of water exposing the spent fuel will result in overheating and can cause melting and ignite its zirconium metal cladding resulting in a fire that could deposit large amounts of radioactive materials over hundreds, if not thousands of miles.

This was not lost on Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), who after visiting the site on April 6, wrote to Japan's U.S. ambassador, Ichiro Fujusaki, that "loss of containment in any of these pools... could result an even larger release of radiation than the nuclear accident..... " .

Debris Map Inside Reactor 4 Spent Fuel Pool at #Fukushima I Nuke Plant

The map was apparently made by Hitachi GE Nuclear Energy. The map is in the report by the Working Council for "Mid-and-long-Term Roadmap towards the Decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Units 1-4". The Council met for the 5th time on April 23, apparently. Hitachi is a member of the Council.

The report is available only in Japanese, and I don't think the detailed debris map (below) was disclosed in the regular press conference (there is no mention of it in the "Handout for the Press" section of their website, either in English or in Japanese.

From the Japanese report of the Working Council, 4/23/2012, page 98 (I inserted the English labels):

Tsuruga Nuke Plant Reactor 2 May Have Been Sitting on Top of Active Fault All These Years

As the mayor of Tsuruga City was strongly promoting nuclear power generation in the county in China that has a nuclear power plant with 6 operating reactors and 4 under construction, the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency warned the operator of Tsuruga Nuclear Power Plant that Reactor 2 of the plant may be sitting on an active fault.

Even in Japan, the national guideline is not expecting a reactor to be built on top of an active fault.

Reactor 2 of Tsuruga Nuclear Power Plant is a pressurized water reactor made by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Reactor 1 is a light water reactor by GE. Tsuruga's Reactor 2 was considered to be one of the better made PWRs in Japan. Both reactors have been shut down for regular maintenance..... `... more .

Part of Areas Around Chernobyl Will Be Off Limits Forever, Japanese Media Reports

While the Russian News (RIA Novosti) emphasized the "revitalization" plan for the areas around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, the Japanese media decided to focus on the other half of the same story: That half of the areas around Chernobyl will be abandoned forever.

The media and the Japanese viewers are thinking about the areas around Fukushima I Nuke Plant, of course. Even the national government is starting to doubt the efficacy of "decontamination" in the immediate neighborhood of the plant, even though they have promised the residents that the government will do the decontamination so that they can return someday.

Tokyo, March 25, 2012

Dear Secretary-General ,
Honorable Ban Ki-moon ,

.... I was asked to make a statement at the public hearing of the Budgetary Committee of the House of Councilors on March 23. I raised the crucial problem of N0.4 reactor of Fukushima containing 1,535 fuel rods.

It could be fatally damaged by continuing aftershocks.

Moreover, 50 meters away from it exists a common cooling pool for 6 reactors containing 6,375 fuel rods !

It is no exaggeration to say that the fate of Japan and the whole world depends on NO.4 reactor.
This is confirmed by most reliable experts like Dr.Arnie Gundersen or Dr.Fumiaki Koide.

Please allow me to inform you of an initiative being taken by a former UN official who is endeavoring to have the Nuclear Security Summit take up the crucial problem of N0.4 reactor of Fukushima . He is pursuing the establishment of ”an independent
assessment team " .... “ .

Hong Kong holds nuclear accident drill

Posted: 27 April 2012 0114 hrs

HONG KONG: Hong Kong held a nuclear emergency drill on Thursday involving over 1,000 officials and foreign experts, the city's first exercise since the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan last year.

The drill was meant to test contingency plans for a nuclear incident at Daya Bay power plant in China's Guangdong province, 20 kilometres from Hong Kong's border and 50 kilometres from the centre of the financial hub.

"This will better prepare Hong Kong to deal with any emergencies," Security Minister Ambrose Lee told reporters, describing the exercise as "successful".

Lee said experts from France, Britain and the International Atomic Energy Agency were present to observe the exercise. Some 100 residents of an island near Daya Bay were evacuated as part of the drill.

Greenpeace activists tried to participate in the exercise and managed to unfurl a banner reading "Save our home from nuclear risks" before they were turned back by the authorities.

"They have taken the easy way out - evading nuclear crisis management and replacing it with nuclear propaganda," Greenpeace Senior Campaigner Prentice Koo said in a statement.

The two-day drill, which will continue on Friday, was announced last year shortly after the Fukushima plant in Japan was hit by meltdowns and explosions triggered by a massive earthquake and tsunami.

Video of Inside Reactor 4 Bldg at #Fukushima I Nuke Plant

Skip to the 2:40 mark. You get to see the scene around the Reactor 4 building briefly, then inside the building and the top floor where the Spent Fuel Pool is.

The video was taken on April 24, 2012 when the vice minister of the cabinet office visited the plant :

Re: 7,900 Radioactive Rods ready to enter the Pacific ! Ambassador : " Fate of Japan and the whole world depends on NO. 4 reactor "
Unfortunately, the same thing. Although a much lesser degree than your country will be.

Depending on reactor changes in Reactor 4, that is. Then all bets are off.

" It's impossible for a nuclear power plant to have an accident. ”

..... The staff member in the fire and emergency section that was in charge of the drill conveyed Niitsuma's thinking to the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (today's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) and the Science and Technology Agency (part of today's Ministry of Education and Science).

But the word from the national government was totally unexpected. "It's impossible for a nuclear power plant to have an accident. There is no need to have the residents participate in the drill.
That would fan unnecessary fears."
Isn't that interesting. Dr. Haruki "Detarame" (falsehood) Madarame told then-Prime Minister Naoto Kan on board the helicopter on the way to Fukushima I Nuke Plant on March 12, 2011, "Don't worry. It's impossible for the reactor to blow up. It's structurally impossible."

.... more samples of the Japanese official's unscientific arrogance on that site .

Remember , radioactive trees can be used to make toilet paper , matches , furniture and fire wood ... and if burned became even more dangerous . If the wood is sold to other Asian countries Do you think they will tell you ?

“ .... Now They Tell Us: Wholesaler in Tokyo Falsified Fukushima Cucumbers as "Made in Iwate, Yamagata" Last Year
It was discovered by the information from a citizen. Any penalty? Nah. The Tokyo Metropolitan government told the wholesaler to try their best not to do that again.
