General Peter Jan Schoomaker (born February 12, 1946) became the 35th Chief of Staff of the United States Army, on August 1, 2003.

Schoomaker graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Management from Central Michigan University, and an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Hampden-Sydney College.

His appointment was unusual in that he was called out of retirement to take up the post. Prior to his current assignment, Schoomaker spent over 30 years in a variety of assignments with both conventional and special operations forces. He participated in numerous deployment operations including DESERT ONE in Iran, URGENT FURY in Grenada, JUST CAUSE in Panama, DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM in Southwest Asia, UPHOLD DEMOCRACY in Haiti, and supported various other operations.

Schoomaker’s awards and decorations include the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, two Distinguished Service Medals, four Defense Superior Service Medals, three Legion of Merits, two Bronze Star Medals, two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, three Meritorious Service Medals, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Military Freefall Badge, the Special Forces Tab, and the Ranger Tab.

Yes, Peter Schoomaker was a military guy. He holds things together quite well. I don´t know much about the TV side of things, but in 2006 the film industry gets really interested in the Mars thing. I think, but I´m not sure, that an American director picks up a string of major awards for a film about Iraq. There will also be a major incident involving the rock music band U2, who are kidnapped and murdered by alleged terror groups.

Back to Mars. On your line, the government is suppressing information about Mars, something we knew about in the early 1980s. In Peru in 2014 a lot of people are beginning to learn about it, but without "NASA".

The international situation between May and August 2006 is perhaps the worst your line has ever known since the Cuba crisis (and the 9/11 tragedy). At that time, most folks will be preparing for nuclear war and you will see a major breakdown in societies across the world, including Europe.

I´m sorry about Australia not making it to the soccer series, but Australia fares pretty well in the future as far as the world situation goes. New Zealand was also a good place to be in the post-2006 era.

You can forget "business as usual" in the second quarter of 2006. International tensions will be such that you won´t be permitted to travel, and you certainly wouldn´t volunteer to leave home for any length of time.

I don´t know if you are personally planning to take a trip to Europe. If so, think again. Food shortages will be hitting Germany and France next year and you´ll find yourself caught up in street riots. In July, much of Europe will be under curfew.

England will be seeing some heavy fuel rationing next year, well ahead of other countries, but generally you´re pretty safe there. The continent of Europe is a different matter.

The North West coast of England is lost to the seas in the year 2010 but the Thames Barrier saves London. Your Queen Elizabeth dies in 2007 and you get a new king (Charles) who acts as a unifier and helps keep the country going. He becomes very popular when he gets his hands dirty on reconstruction projects, living closer to the people and practically leading the country away from disaster.

The computer I used a lot was called the Visnys Deck. Its code background was Unix-based but the hardware morphed into a plasma storage system which allowed code to rewrite itself each time you performed a new task. All the Decks have a basic program that does multiple tasks, and it learns as you use it. It´s self-replicating and cross-platform.

The Gates system is extremely limited because it never broke away from binary code or translated into a system compatible with plasma technologies. The computer I´m using now is an old Unix system and I understand how it works. We still have them well into the future on my line.

There are pandemics in 2007, but they are not influenza-type pandemics. In the United States there will be a big problem with the resurgence of old diseases, such as cholera and typhoid. That´s because the infrastructure begins to fall apart at the end of 2006.

When I was in Peru, they were still having problems with basic illnesses such as dysentry, but much progress was being made. On my line we all take pure sea salt with water about three times a day.

You´re also going to have a big problem with asthma soon -- a real epidemic of breathing problems.

I believe you said something about the atmosphere on fire over certain parts of the world at time, yes. Ozone layer depleted. Is this the cause of the asthma problems, ect.

Yes, 16745, the riots in France and elsewhere in Europe will get much worse. Europe will suffer huge waves of unrest in the early part of 2006, even to the extent that things go revolutionary.

Some of it was definitely organized by outside forces, but it all got out of hand around April 2006. On my line we had a guy studying with us whose parentage was German, and he was amongst the first in my group to visit Germany on this line in 2006. He came back quite shaken because of the violence he witnessed in Berlin and other German cities.

I´m not talking about "foreigners" here, but about the ordinary people having to go without food or queue for long hours just to get their hands on a loaf of bread and a piece of meat.

In your timeline the the Visnys Deck is/was a self-replicating and cross-platform system. What happened with that system. Are the machines running your dimension/universe/timeline.
