The fact of the matter is that if you let your cat run free outside, you run a high risk of them not coming back eventually. It is just how cats are. Sometimes they dont come home for days or weeks or at all. The risk is even higher if they arent spayed or nuetered.
We have a feral-born Siberian. No one at the animal shelter wanted him and he was still a kitten, so we took him home. He did terribly when confined to the house. He hid all the time, peed on everything and was pretty much completely disagreeable. So when we moved to a better location, we started letteing him outside. He has made a 180 degree turnaround and is now a great cat because he has his freedom. But I know that one day he isnt going to come home, and thats ok. He gets to live his life the way he wants. Its just the risk you take with a free feline.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14072725 yea, the feline, in its proper environment is a demonstration of freedom. Of center. And if he loves you, he won't leave actually, because cats do love with everything they have. Having a cat that can be free, and its interrelation with people is a lovely example of how the world ought to go round. he probably won't leave, just make the best of both worlds he lives in, his and yours. which we all need to learn to do in our interacting worlds. To the cat we are gods in a way. They see in us, if well loved in return what they might become. And thus demonstrate how it ought to be with US and our interactions the cosmic mind within. Some cars ARE already "people".
