I think you might be right about the Alumbrados, was a Spanish chapter of the order. The Jesuits were created by the Illuminati after the destruction of the Knights Templar, so as to infiltrate the Catholic Church & destroy it from within, but,as with the Knights Templar, they were exposed & were branded heretics.

The Ancient Order of the Illuminati has been around much longer than these organizations, their first Grand Master was Pythagoras.
