He was alleged to have lied.. an indictment is not indicative of guilt. Woodward´s tesitmony makes it quite possible that the Scotster did learn about Plame from journalists.

Either way, that does not change that Bobby´s testimony can prove that Libby DID hear of Plame´s identity from journalists.. who learned of her occupation from a drunk Joe wilson at a cocktail party.. grow up and deal with it.

Woodward has been suspicious for a few years now. He got very buddy buddy with Bush boys back prior to the invasion of Iraq, so honestly I don´t trust him. I cannot trust anyone who has been a commentator on this whole subject and highly critical of the investigation without ever once admiting that they may hold crucial information and thus recusing themselves from the role of commentator.
Additionally, his testimony does not automatically get Libby off the hook. That will have to play out. |

There is no record of Woodward telling another reporter. IN FACT Woodward claims that he told his partner in the series he was writing. THAT Partner says no way. He didn´t tell me.

the only way Woodwards testimony could get libby off the hook is this.
Woodward told Tim Russert, Tim Russert lied.
Outside that Woodwards story has squat to do with it.
Libby is charged with lying to a grand jury, obstruction of justice
5 counts that can get him THIRTY long years. ANd if he doesn´t co-operate the easier it gets for the judge to hand it down to him.
Because someoen else told Woodward before Libby is recorded talking to Tim Russert is immaterial to this case, unless Woodward told Russert.
I doubt that happened.
As for Woodward. oh yes his invovlement is to be watched with wary eyes.

Stephen Hadley might fit the bill for who told Woodward. Now wouldn´t it be a shame if the liar cheney had to go find another person inside that tight circle.

Correct. The ONLY way this could help Libby is if Libby´s lawyers could PROVE that Woodward told Russert and that Russert lied. That´s not going to happen. And BTW I think that only effects one out of the five counts against Libby. So he still has to answer for the others. I would like to know what Fitzgerald line of questioning was to Woodward regarding why he failed to come forward earlier as well. |

well ... no ... libby is helped by the fact that clearly someone else has the name and is handing it out. he met with woodward the same time period ... maybe he is just mistaken whom he heard it from. and the thrust of the indictment against libby is that it was a concerted effort to "out" plame ... yet he didn´t out her to woodward.

433, whether Libby was teh FIRST to out Plame has no bearing on the charges against Libby at this time. Fitzgerald certainly seemed to be aware that others were out there putting the name around as well, and chose his words carefully. Libby may in fact receive even more charges as a result of this testimony...and there is still the issue of who told Woodward...will THEY be indicted? |

I would also strongly suggest that Bush did not win the election in 2000 and that there should be an investigation into the use of Diebold machines from 2004. That such a cloud exists in the minds of more than half the voters of the US should be of concern to you no matter what names you choose to call them. |
