Christian does not equal doormat or pushover "I Have Sworn upon the Altar of God... When he was in a virtual coma in the hospice due to his liver cancer, a nurse mentioned that she heard Jimmy was a "karaoke man"... Right then and there, he launched into a fully loud and clear tune of "Blue Christmas", by Elvis Pressley, with his beloved wife Jan singing along with him! That was a day or two before Thanksgiving...he never opened his eyes or made any more sounds other than a grunt or grown when the nurses would turn him over. But that is something that we will always cherish and remember about my brother. |

Quoting: BRIEF You can always be counted on to take ANY subject and put an offensive spin to it. You are classless. That's why it's best to just ignore him. His inexperienced bigotry used to get me pissed, now it just amuses me to watch other's fall into his trap. The spark of life that fired up in that cool old guy is what it's all about. Thanks for posting the vid. It made me think that sometimes when life get tough, it's those small but precious bright moments that keep me going. In the last few years I've lost an unusual amount of friends, close family members, my home, business, cars, custom bikes, (awesome)pets. It just is what it is and I ain't done yet. I'm going to keep going forward and take the time to smile at all the simple and seemingly unimportant *little things* that make it all worth while. I like that old guy. I'd like to be his friend. When it's his time to leave this earth, even though he's not all here all the time now, he'll still be missed. |

I lived with a host family in Quito for about five months, and the grandfather had pretty bad Alzheimer's and Diabetes. My host sister started singing songs with him one day and although he had completely forgotten the names of his son, grandchildren, wife, and sister he was reciting the song word for word– He actually remembered more than my 24 year old host sister! |
