Is it this bad for everyone?
I am a hard working parent, spouse, student, as well as, employee. It seems like there is no catching up, just barely staying afloat. I have $1.68 to my name a car that is almost on E utilities that keep getting higher and higher on the verge of disconnect, can barely afford food as it is. Just got over a back injury that has kept me out of action for almost a month now. The one thing that really upsets me is when family tells you if you need help just ask but when you ask they have attitudes. I know I am not the only one in this situation. When is enough enough? well can you guys at least say a prayer for me and my family. Thanks Guys and Gals

No...

But if it is...it usually means you're living above your means.

And I'm not saying that to be harsh...but if you're penny pinching and not spending money on luxuries you're rarely gonna find yourself on an empty tank and with less than two bucks to your name.

Thanks for the post but believe me we are not living above our means. Since mid last year I almost lost my wife twice. We stayed back and forth to the hospital which is what initially started the problem. And now since I couldn't work due to the back injury haven't had much money laying around. I wish I could say it was all my fault but the truth of the matter is that outside factors hurt us not living above our means.

It's difficult at first, but if you sit down and look at your bills/spending/etc. you could probably figure out how to change your spending a little. Get creative! :) Prayers sent your way.

Its not your fault, The governments and banks inflate the money purposely which makes it almost impossible to catch up...

Its no surprise that 50% of this country is poor, so you are hardly a minority..

If you truly want to change things, stop working... Its a peaceful way to solve every single problem we have. If this country went on strike for 30 days, all of these corporations, banks, and governments would literally beg the citizens to go back to work...

But no one is man enough to do that so enjoy working for nothing... When you finally grow a pair, quit your job, its the only way this will get fixed.

So the key to getting help it to quit my job. NO, I refuse to add to the problem of welfare and the fact that its only a matter of time before its over with anyways. Talking about growing a pair I was serving my country overseas working with explosives. Grow a pair. pffft I do agree with you up untill that statement

It is getting harder for a lot of people...not just financially...everything is getting harder. It's as if the whole world is losing it's damn mind. My husband and I ask the same thing...is life really this hard for everybody? I really think it is....I started noticing it last year and it's just going at a much faster pace this year. Things happen day after day and it feels like you just can't catch your breath anymore. I don't know what the fix is...there has to be a way to slow down and get control back.

We'll definitely pray for you OP. While it's not like that for everybody . . . yet. . . it is for a growing number of people. I like to think that I can keep my family comfortable through this economic firestorm, but I fear by the time it's all said and done, hyperinflation will get us all. I used to not pay attention to what food or gas costs, but now I am truly shocked when I go to the grocery store. I can still afford it, but whenever I'm checking out at a store, all I can imagine is how the hell 90% of the public can still afford to live. Good luck OP. We may all be in "The Hunger Games" soon enough.

Re: Is it this bad for everyone?
These past few years have been really hard on us because we are on fixed income. Thanks to this president, our health insurance has increased by $350 per month. Add inflation the fed has increased the cost of groceries at least 20%. In December we paid $2.99 for a jar of generic peanut butter. Last week the same jar was $5.67. This administration is destroying the lives of hard working middle class families. Their parasitic cronies keep getting more welfare, more food stamps and more goodies. Our only hope is to get a new president.

That's what you get for choosing to be middle class. Not the wisest choice these days. The powers that be want you working hard and paying taxes, not for your benefit but for their own.

Re: Is it this bad for everyone?
I think OP left out half of it.

The other half is that not only are we going more and more poor by the day but scammers are getting tougher too. I started chatting on a dating site and she had lots of photos and it seemed just like every other chat ive had. Suddenly after a week she said she was in trouble and needed financial support asap. She needed 2,500 for some bullshyt. Suddenly I realized what a sophisticated scammer she was.

Scammers are alla round us and when our money gets tight, their scams become more believable. Dont ever EVER try to land a job through craigslist. Id say roughly 99.999999% of all job ads are some type of scammer from another country. You'll have an interview and they say things like "this job doesnt require prior experience(for 75k a year lol) but the only way you can advance is through our sponsored online college institute. give us your credit card information so that if you do decide to go to our college to move up then it'll be much smoother."

scammers are everywhere. They're walking around you looking for prey. Since corporations arent paying them then they have to get money somehow. It's a dog eat dog world. In america it's very wise for you to really think about any job offers coming your way. You must understand if they're trying to scam you. Hell even corporations will scam you. Blatently take off 10 hours from your paycheck hoping you dont notice. Or hire you temp and work you to the bone for a week while the work load is high and then as soon as their new temps successfulyl blow through that load then they just lay you off.

I have to admit, I don't take economic doom that seriously anymore. My husband made more money last year than when he & I were BOTH working. The last few years we've saved a ton of money and made some wise financial decisions. And I no longervwork outside the home. We have everything we need and we've also been able to help out a friend who was in financial trouble. Pay it forward. I have no complaints. I am blessed.
