What scared me was the solicitation for five million gallons of KY and 100,000 black ski masks.

I have enough iodine potassium tablets to last my family for 6 weeks. Im ordering more every week. I take the N. Korea, Iran, China, Russia, american war tensions very serious. Im a prepper ( dont forget the water tabs also they are as important as the iodine tabs)

The DLA is apparently looking for upwards of 400,000 dollars worth of the thyroid protecting tablets at a time when many government officials have openly told American citizens NOT to buy potassium iodide.

This on top of a stark warning by a former UN adviser that the world could literally be destroyed by Fukushima.

Anybody that did not stock up after fuckyoushima isn't paying attention.

I got iodine tablets and radiation detector cards for the family several years back. Wheither it's an attack or a prolonged power failure due to an EMP from the sun cooking off the nuclear power plants, it's cheap insurance on a future that seems to be written in stone now. At some point some areas of the country/world will be irradiated one way or another.

Fukashima was about as big a wake up all as you're gonna get folks. Lights go out, power plants go bang, SHTF in that order.

iodides/iodates only confer some initial sheilding against one of the lesser worrysome and shorter lived radionuclides, and it doesnt do anything for anything else or the whole range of radioactive components, and expect anywhere from one to 10 deaths per thousand population taking these pills, and more with serious nonlethal effects.

Kinda like wearing double condoms to your own execution by hanging...

We had tons of links on the dangers/precautions/instructions on KI shortly after the Fuku stories broke. I'm not going to go off into that direction, though. Just wanted to point out that suddenly the military needs KI, and... we don't (for whatever reason).

The various potential scenarios could lead to something catastrophic. Hopefully not, but we've already seen some effects.

It's #3 MOX and #4 MOX spent fuel rods that spook me most.

I only have 2 bottles of Pro-KI for my wife and I. I wonder how long the effects last with one bottle? Do I need more?

I'm not going to weigh in on that, since, after all the KI threads last year, I came to my own conclusion that a) if used improperly, it could cause other health issues and b) if used properly, it would not block all radiation, there's no sense in buying any.
