NORTH KOREA LAUNCHES ROCKET - UPDATE North Korean rocket launch 'may have failed' - US officials Well considering they are using technology from the early 60s..they always seem to have problems with the 3rd stage when they launch these things. I'm not surprised it didn't make it to orbit. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11213272 60's rocketry was far more advanced then today's. Just ask NASA. 60's was analog equipment. Whatever it was. It was friggin amazing. Had men prancing around the moon and back to earth in a matter of days. Now it is a fuckin' miracle just to get a satellite to orbit the moon. nasa must have lost their mystical power crystals in the 80's. |

Like markets, its perception that determines action. Will NK admit to failure, it foster the belief of a shoot down and react accordingly? Then the posturing of the World will lead to a self fulfilling scenario. Best to ignore NK gov't, and support he people with food aid regardless, imho. |

Cuba also, I think. Lo and behold, Libya and Iraq didn't have global central banks either. Imagine my surprise! Don't mean to make light of this horror, sorry. |

NORTH KOREA LAUNCHES ROCKET - UPDATE North Korean rocket launch 'may have failed' - US officials The yanks shot this down using airborn lasers. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1610681 Makes it look like a fuel leak and subsequent explosion.... Dude, please.. we're not all "Yanks" or "yankies" -- don't ever come here and say that to someone in the south.. Serious question. Is Yanks a bad word like the N word. During the American Civil War in the mid 1800's, the Southern states attempted to secede from the Northern States. Northerners were referred to as "Yankee's" or "Yanks". The Yanks won. Some Southerner's still hold a grudge. OMG. Please stop. I'm sorry. Please back to topic. Someone make a thread on slang words not to call each other. I'm sorry. |

The Nuclear Axis of Evil On July 26, 2007, an accidental explosion in Syria spread mustard gas, VX, and sarin gas killed “dozens” of Syrians and Iranians when they were trying to place a mustard gas-filled warhead onto a Scud-C missile. North Korea was part of this program as well. [link to frontpagemag.com] |

It does matter considering there is too much unknown STILL about this rocket. We don't know if it has nuclear warhead. So what happens if a 90 ton rocket (with nuclear capability) sinks in the ocean close enough to sea bottom and then explodes? Doesn't take a physics expert to know that it could cause significant pressure if in the right area. Not saying this WILL happen. I don't know what will or won't, but I have learned to expect the unexpected. |
