Anyone in Virginia Feeling Rumbling?
Hi gang, Bumpass Bob here. As most of you know, I am about 8 miles from last August's VA EQ.

From week to week, I feel aftershocks that range from 1.5 - 2.5...getting used to them.

However, for the last 3 days there has been a barely noticible, DEEP rumbling going on. It's not weather and it isn't a train, etc...it feels very much like what I feel when aftershock waves are heading my way. Yet, this new rumble doesn't result in an aftershock....just a tremor that goes on for minutes...then fades away....then rumbles again off and on for 3 days now.

Just reaching out to see if others are feeling this...

Well honestly, it's 24/7...just intermittantly. It's so prevalent that I notice it more when it fades....

Hi Bumpass Bob. I'm in Glen Allen but haven't felt anything. I wonder if what your feeling is vibrations from the big EQ's the past couple of days.

Thanks for your confirm. You're fairly close, so I'm sure we're experiencing the same rumble...Hope it's not a forecast of something more sinister...

Richmond, Va.

A few minutes ago, my patio table slanted. Ever so slightly, but I could see it.

Just for those putting the numbers and events together here...is anyone else throughout the US feeling anything similar?

Maybe if we start plotting this, we might be able to gather some potentially useful data points for a possible prediction...

Hey neighbor! I was wondering the same thing. Like a global reset of sorts. Dunno...but it's a bit concerning.

Hey, when TSHTF, we'll have to have a bug out beer together!...lol

Well Bumpass I definitely think something is up. What with all the strange noises going on globally and the frequency now of big earthquakes. After last year's earthquake here in VA, I've been saying we're going to get another one.

Wanna know the truth? is it in your head?, or in reality?

Get a large glass bowl, fill it full of water, set it in a location that is not subject to vibration ( Back yard on ground etc ) and then get a video camera, put the camera on a tripod and film the ripples....

....It will either show vibration, or that you have issues.

Either one, we need to know, so go do it.

Here's what's interesting. I'm in La. (cajun La. not mexican La.) on the 12th floor of an office building. I can tell when there will be earthquakes from OK to Va because my water bottle will display ripples on those days. Today is one of those days.

Good advice. Have done this countless times. Confirmed by family and neighbors.

This is different than the 'swaying' that took place for weeks after the initial EQ. That sensation was almost like feeling sea-sick.

This rumble is short-lived and fades as quickly as it begins. Almost like a distant thunderclap, yet this is deep and angry...it's not coming from the sky. You can feel it in your feet and chest.

So, no....I'm not a woo woo....not as it pertains to EQs anyway....lol

Awesome, I'm sure your not a issues type person and would like to see some of these ripples. A camera and a video upload to Youtube would be awesome, how likely are we to get you to record this type of swaying?...

Maybe we can get you to float a needle in the bowl to see if there are magnetic anomalies as well?

THAT would be cool.

Interesting. I'm in Montgomery County Maryland and I've been feeling it at work and asking myself if it was real or just me. Strange.

Hey I'm in Fredericksburg funny you made this thread last night I felt rumbling when I got home around 11pm I was sitting on a stool in my kitchen and then when I went to bed I felt the bed move. Today I have not personally felt anything but I called my mother in law in Beaverdam and they said they have been feeling rumbling since Monday. My father in law says also says he found his harley in the garage on its side today which is just odd.

I am south of Roanoke. Last night around 6pm or so there was a loud rumbling. My fiance was washing her truck and felt/heard it too. It scared our ferret while she was eating. She took off under the bed. No idea what is was, no large equipment around our area.

I just remembered our pool is open now so I suppose I would not have to use a bowl? I suppose I could just see if there were ripples in the pool when all the pumps heater lights are off.

Hey! Well Beaverdam is just up the road from me and, yes, this week is when it was really evident.

And yesterday, I found a little statue knocked over that is sort of my touchstone for this rumbling. I'd love to record the water thing, yet it happens so quickly it's difficult to be ready.

I think something is going on deep in the granite bedrock somewhere that is ringing and these rumbles are being noticed now here in the east. Almost like the event is being telegraphed down some fault or density fracture in the sub-strata. It always follows the same direction here.
Path of least resistance type deal.

Bob here is where you can monitor seismic activity for your area. A lot of surface noise noted but some if it is not. You may be right.

That could be surface noise, human activity etc. . Check prior days to compare. Be suspicious of activity that occurs exclusively during daylight normal business hours. Also on windy stormy days.
