If you don't wanna use these due to the horrible ingredients, use organic (USDA Organic) coconut milk, or something like that. Dawn Dish Soap Ingredients: Water, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium pareth-23, sulfate C-12-14-16, dimethyl amine oxide, SD alcohol, undeceth-9, propylene glycol, cyclohexandiamine, polyacetate, protease, fragrance, FD&C blue Explaining the ingredients 1. Water Water is normal. 2.Sodium Lauryl Sulfate This is bad, but also used in body washes. Avoid it. 2. Sodium Pareth-23 It is a harsh cleansing agent. Not for the skin. Avoid Sulfates. 3. Sulfate C-12-14-16 Like I said AVOID sulfates. 4. Dimethyl amine oxide This is okay I think. It's what softens your hands. 5. SD alcohol Avoid it. ... There's too many ingrdients. You could do better for your skin. Go for organic products with the USDA Organic Seal (Look it up). Organic products tend to have natural ingredients. Always look at the ingredients. |

This stuff is amazing, I like only the peppermint soap. but hey, they all are great. Target carries it and its the cheapest place I have found it at. That stuff, while excellent, leaves my hair horrible. I have never found a decent alternative to shampoos when it comes to long hair. |

Chadbro User ID: 31313922 United States 01/01/2013 09:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It have stopped using all body washes as well as bar soap and switched to Ivory Dish soap, As I have a mild case of Psoriasis and it helps keep my skin free from oil that makes my Psoriasis flair, not to mention my skin feels smoother and softer than it has ever. If they can use this on animals affected in oil spills I think that is is safe to use to wash. Also If we use this on our dishes and it has such bad chemicals and we eat off dinnerware we are at risk for cancer anyway. Fact- Bar soap and body was leave more residue than dish soap, leaving your skin softer as well as keeping deep pores clean. |

Quoting: Chadbro 31313922 Pay particular attention if you have acne. You want nothing but air touching your skin. No oil, no dirt, no makeup, no soap scum, no nothing. Dish soaps wash clean away so they're the best. Sunlight antibacterial even has salicilic acid in it, which is the same ingredient in lots of OTC acne creams and washes like OXY and all that crap. If you have acne, wash your face three times a day with Sunlight antibacterial. You won't have it for long. |

By the way, I've heard that liquid dish soap is basically the same as shampoo. I've used dish soap as shampoo and it seemed OK. But that's much different from bar soaps. |

You will probably go bald and have cancer within a year. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1370297 I have used Ecover lavendar dishwashing liquid on my hair and got it squeaky clean, 32 oz for 3.99. Simple clean ingredients leaves it shiney, used it for a year. Tired of complex toxic cocktail shamps that make ya want to puke first thing in the morning, all those unnecessary features where it doesn't even leave it uncoated with some silicone or other. J. Crew shampoo for men caused my son's hair to fall out in ovate patches the size of a small lemon in about 3 weeks time. 6 months to grow back. Pretty toxic sh*t that is. Neutrogena is another. I looked into that and found a site showing which shampoos are the most disturbing. J. Crew was on that list. |
thornabelle User ID: 48086666 United States 11/28/2013 08:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A local hairdresser, who has beautiful long hair told me she only uses Dawn dishwashing liquid on her hair. I thought she must be kidding, but I tried it. My hair has never looked better, and I do not have to use any conditioners. She also uses it for a body wash and face cleanser, and I've been using it for that too. I'm 55 and I have long silver hair. Before I started using Dawn, my hair was always frizzy after one day, but now it looks great, and I wash it every day. |

I suppose you also use it in your dishwasher? If not, you ought to try it - fill the entire cup up and put it on the long cycle. :) Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7570540 I see what you did. So did I!! I also have stopped using laundry detergent and only use Dawn. I don't use shampoo because that is a hoax and a scam. Your hair conditions itself with it's own oils. Just need to wash and rinse it with warm water everyday or so. Quoting: Clean as a Whistle 1838230 Some amazing stuff no doubt. |
