15,000 warm temperature records broken
Record and near-record breaking temperatures dominated the eastern two-thirds of the nation and contributed to the warmest March on record for the contiguous United States, a record that dates back to 1895. More than 15,000 warm temperature records were broken during the month.

The average temperature of 51.1°F was 8.6 degrees above the 20th century average for March and 0.5°F warmer than the previous warmest March in 1910. Of the more than 1,400 months (117+ years) that have passed since the U.S. climate record began, only one month, January 2006, has seen a larger departure from its average temperature than March 2012.

Probably Urban Island Effect.

No big deal. It's not global warming. Actually, the global temperature for the year is below 30 years average anyway.

your countries records span, is a joke.
only about 100 yrs.. Of course you are going to see records broken.

Anyway, its all set for April to be significantly colder than march, here in the UK.

Anyone in the know, knows that the top-tier scientists monitoring the sun, have predicted an unprecedented lowering of solar activity over the coming years.

This will result in extreme cold temperatures for earth.

WRONG!

These daily, monthly and seasonal temperatures are representative of a roughly triangular area of the United Kingdom enclosed by Bristol, Lancashire and London (view map). The monthly series, which begins in 1659, is the longest available instrumental record of temperature in the world. The daily series begins in 1772. The seasonal series also starts in 1659.

But even 300 or 400 years worth of records is a joke, when it comes to global climate study.
Its a blink of an eye.

MY bad I just read it in this old BBC news story that came up when I was looking for records "The record was initially topped earlier in the day when Heathrow airport registered 37.9C (100.2F), meaning the hottest day since records began about 130 years ago in 1875. "

March was warm, but April was cold, its bloody freezing today and has been for like the last two weeks. The trees haven't even started budding yet.

Meanwhile parts of Europe had record low temperature. And those of us here in the Pacific Northwest had record wet and below normal temps this spring.

Believe it or not, the East coast of the US is not the entire planet.
