If it WAS harmful and 90% of Western Civilization own a Microwave why aren't people dying in the millions every year due to Microwaved food?

Bit of logic works in cases like this.

Its safe.

Oh, before any of you say "People DO die of Microwave food"
No, no they die through processed food which are full of preservatives, colourings, flavourings.

and as for the microwaves getting out of the oven case.
No Risk.
the oven case is completely shielded from leakage.
the microwave oven case is a Faraday Cage, and
no electromagnetic waves can escape a Faraday Cage.

nonsense. microwave cooking doesn't break up molecules
any more than normal cooking.

the whole mechanism of all *cooking* is to apply heat
which induces low grade chemical reactions, which are
almost entirely "breaking up molecules" -- which leaves
foods gooyer and easier to eat.

(note: this is also the entire mechanism of *burning*
and *fire* -- in the case of burning and fire, however,
the amount of heat applied is great enough to trigger
the sustained chemical reaction (molecules breaking up)
which can rightly be called "chemical chain reaction".
and if allowed to continue on and on, all the molecules
are broken up so much that you are left with CARBON
(ie. charred stuff)

Microwave cooking is WONDERFUL.
learn to use the various "power settings" which cycles
the the microwave klystron on and off to regulate the
heat -- and you can cook everything far more efficiently
than radiant heat.

Converts to carcinogens.

The only reason consumers "need" to use microwaves is for so-called convenience. And like so much else that's going on, TPTB promote whatever is not good for the public - why do you think so many things now require microwave preparation?

the Microwave Oven does away with the standard
gas and electric ovens, and ranges.
standard ovens and ranges are horrific wasters of energy,
when measured on the scale of 6 billion people.

Edison's incandescent light bulb has been an horrific
waste of energy over the past 150 years, too.

It doesn't actually put radiation in the damn food it is heat only.
Its difficult because it uses the skin effect to heat the food which often results in burnt outside and uncooked inside.
I doubt this does a damn thing different than heating in a regular oven its just heating it differently.

yes, the microwaves (which are radio waves) cause
the molecules to jiggle around, and that's makes
the heat. (the heat, that is generated, in turn
breaks up the molecules in the food, which is called: "cooking the food".

In a study published in the November 2003 issue of The Journal of the Science of Food andAgriculture found that broccoli cooked in the microwave with a little water lost up to 97 percent of the beneficial antioxidant chemicals it contains. By comparison, steamed broccoli lost only 11 percent or fewer of its antioxidants.

"Microwaved food tastes like soggy shit."

That's true.,

Most people just stick it on the highest setting and let it do its own thing.

You can lower the temp*In a way* inside Microwaves to cook food more slowly.
Its like. Food would be shit if you cooked it in the oven full-blast also because you cook it too fast burning the outside leaving the middle raw.
Same applies to the Microwave.
Most have settings for different food.
I suggest you read the books which come with your ovens.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2227677

You're probably right. I don't have a microwave because I never liked the way the food tasted, and it may have been my fault.

I've gotten pretty good at using fire, I'll just stick with that... ya know, why fix what's not broken ;)

well, there have been major scientific studies,
besides your lame-as pronouncements, that indicate
that cooking food like meat and hotdogs and stuff
over an open fire (and even very hot charcoal),
creates carcinogenic molecules.
i presume it is because of the intense heat of being
in direct contact with the flame is just the right
very high temperature to break the meat molecules into
those kinds of smaller carcinogenic molecules.

but that's not Microwave cooking, is it.
