In Australia, where they put a carbon tax in effect, the electricity rates are skyrocketing. Australia, like the U.S. has vast deposits of cheap coal to produce cheap electricity, but they export them to China so the Chinese can get cheap electricity. This has been so unpopular in Australia the last election in Qweensland saw the greens and Labor almost completely thrown out of Parliament. Hopefully, the same will happen to the federal govenment and they will cancel the carbon tax.
