Hey, hangout - thinking of you all as I get into the mood for the holiday season



I have my Christmas lights up (never take them down, lol - but they are lit now).

Going to do mine if the weather breaks.

The weather is REALLY nice today, I have been waiting on putting mine up outside because I needed an extension cord but I may just swipe one my husband has. No tree yet though!! I don't know when anyone else puts up their tree, but we tend to procrastinate so hopefully we'll try to get it up sooner than our usual week to a few days before Christmas.

Yes, just amazing!!!
Overcast all day and foggy in the morning, but it was WARM.
It hit 65 in my backyard, in December, in Wisconsin!

Kind of weird walking barefoot today knowing there will be snow on the ground in a few days. ;-`)

So much grading!!!
I started teaching at a local college again this term.
It's been 4+ years since I was at the lectern.
Grades are due by noon tomorrow.
I went pretty solid from 7 AM - 6 PM, with a couple short breaks and an hour long walk outside.
I have a couple of hours left yet tonight and 3-4 in the morning.

The folks in my advanced classes renew my hope in our youth.
The ones in the Intro class, not so much, LoL.

It got to 72 degrees here in Northwest Indiana today. I could take this nice weather ALL WINTER !!! The only exception is some snow on Christams ! :)

HAHA, I guess you guys usually get pretty bad winters, huh? Don't think I'd ever be able to live there, seems like it would be too cold to me! Since you mention your classes, I just gotta say how it must be very exciting to teach! I can only imagine how many minds you have shaped and influenced.

Wow! It's supposed to go up to 66 today, but it may actually get warmer. You are just like I am, I want nice weather now, but definitely snow on Christmas

Me too! Since we live in Alabama and can't have a white Christmas, we've decided to go to the Smoky Mountains the week after. It's absoloutely beautiful there, and they have Christmas lights up even through February.

I'm doing good. How are you? I know what you mean about the weather. It was 75 today. I spent the afternoon outside wtih my daughter. We had a blast.

I'm feeling the spirit . . . . Hope all good things for this crowd on The Hang Out. :)

This whole week has been crazy, but fun ! My youngest daughter took me out for a Holiday Party at a local store we patronize. The catered food was fantastic ! This afternoon, she took me to Olive Garden. I have not been there in about 20 years. I am sooo stuffed right now, I do not even want to look at food until tomorrow.
Tomorrow is the big Saint Nicholas Potluck at our church. I am bringing 2 pans of green bean casserole. I will get re-stuffed, and I still have leftovers from Olive Garden to plow through !!! When we get home from church, after stopping by my mothers to help her out with a few things, we will do my birthday cake. GEE, what a whirlwind week !!!

I'm doing good, how about yourself? We're fixing up the hallway in our house, so I'm actually pretty sore this morning :( Like I've said before, our house is old and we've done numerous things to it. Right now we're putting up spackling between the exposed logs to make it look nice. My husband originally had done it but after doing it for a few minutes he got disgusted as it was "too monotonous" and I took over...good thing, since I guess I'm better at it than him But standing on a ladder holding your arms up takes its toll I guess, so sore today!! We've been working on this project for 6 years :( Hopefully it will be done soon. Has anyone else ever renovated an old house?

Oh, I love Olive Garden's salad!!! So yummy! That potluck sounds like fun, and I bet there's a bunch of good food there too, wow sounds like you've got a few days of great eating there! BTW, I love your tiger with the santa hat...if you don't mind, I may do something similar on mine, that's such a good idea!

Dr. Acular did a fantastic job with my purple Santa hat !!! I LOVE IT !!!
As for the potluck, there is so much food, and such a variety ! I can't wait !!!

There was polish and kraut, shrimp, bourbon apricot lamb, pigs in a blanket,chicken, mostaccolli, more sides and deserts that I can mention. :)

Aww, thank you! I thought it was the perfect pic to add a hat to, it was from the 1st blizzard of 2010 when we had 2 ft of snow each storm within days of each other.

Wow, eat some for me! We don't ever get to do anything like that, occasionally we'll go to church on Saturday night and they do something similar but not as grand in scale. We have been trying to go to buffets to eat lately, like Ryan's or a chinese buffet...that way the kids can each get what they want and there's no crisis. It's similar, but not nearly as good as anything homemade!
