I gotta do a little bragging. My youngest has been going to Purdue. She is majoring in Accounting. As you know, she graduated 1st in her high school class with a 4.48 GPA. So far so good at Purdue. She got all A's her 1st semester, with a GPA of 4.0 !!!
PERFECT SCORE !!!

Momma Tiger obviously did an A+ job raising said A+ child. ;-`)

I gotta give all the credit to my daughter. She is only 17, living in the dorm, budgeting and taking care of all of her business.I have to do absolutely nothing for her. She has her own checking account, and manages all of her own finances, bills, groceries, clothing, car upkeep, etc.
There is one thing that frustrates her, though. Because she is a minor, I have to sign for everything. I had to sign for her to get her own checking account, permission slips for activities at college, and I still have to accompany her when she has a doctor or dentist appointment. Even though my husband gave her his old car, she cannot get it in her name, yet. That will change in a couple of months when she turns 18.

Awe, tell her congrats for me! You must be so proud of her.

6am on 21 December over here and no doom other than that I am off to work shortly!

We had a bit of snow today.
15-20 inches in my county.
18-inches (46 cm) in my neighbourhood.

Over here in the Southern Hemisphere it's middle of summer today...so temperatures mostly in the late 20's and early 30's until March 2013.

I know. ;-`) to the variety the Earth provides us.
Do you ever get a half-metre of snow in 24 hours down there?

Extremely proud. She is a good kid too, which counts for more than anything else.

Never, I'm 46 and I've seen it snow here by us 3 times...1981, about 6 or 7 years ago and one day this past winter. But never more than about 20 centimeters I would say, and that was the one in 1981

My daughter took me out to dinner twice, for my birthday earlier this month ! :)

For my Ma's 40th (many moons ago) I took her to see BTO and the Guess Who at a club. ;-`)

An Afghanistan diplomat visiting the US for the first time was being
wined and dined by the State Department. The diplomat was not used to
the salt in American foods (French fries, cheeses, salami, anchovies,
etc.) and was constantly sending his manservant Abdul to fetch him a
glass of water.

Time and again, Abdul would scamper off and return with a glass of
water, but then came the time when he returned empty handed.
"Abdul, you son of an ugly camel, where is my water?" demanded the diplomat.

"A thousand pardons, O Illustrious One,"
stammered the wretched Abdul,
"But a man is sitting on the well!"

With the Holidays upon us I would like to share a personal experience with my friends about drinking and driving.

Two days ago I was out for an evening with friends and had several cocktails followed by some rather nice red wine.
Feeling jolly, I still had the sense to know that I may be slightly over the limit.
That's when I did something that I've never done before - I took a cab home.
Sure enough on the way home there was a police road block, but since it was a cab they waved it past.
I arrived home safely without incident.
This was a real surprise as I had never driven a cab before,
I don't know where I got it and now that it's in my garage I don't know what to do with it.

GEESH !!! I had 13 for Christmas dinner ! I am sooo tired.
My husband got an SSI check a few days ago, which gave us an opportunity to have a good Christmas. We are still waiting for the SSD to be approved, but in the meantime, $698 a month is a real Blessing.

Hope you all had a great Christmas, (those of you who celebrate it). Hubby and I did a lot of traveling, and it rained all the way home, and got really cold, but we still had a pretty good time. On Christmas eve, early in the day, it was about 70F and sunny with blue skies here in southern middle TN! However, as the day progressed, it clouded up and gradually got colder. By the time we came home last night, it was extremely cold, windy and raining, and the heater in the car didn't want to cooperate! Brrrrr! Now it's 31F, and with the wind chill, feels like 20F. I know that's not very cold to some of you, but for us, it IS! That wind just cuts right thru ya!

Anyway, Christmas with the family was nice. I hope you all had a nice one too.
