I wanted to go out and take some pics of Lake Michigan, but the access road to the lakefront park is flooded out. From what some of my friends told me, 25ft+ waves made a real mess at the lakefront. :(

Hammond, Indiana at the tip of Lake Michigan. The wind caused some damage in my area, like roofing shingles blown off, and a lot of tree branches down, but nothing at my home. It sure was a challenge to walk the dogs in the 60mph winds, though ! But, when they gotta go, they gotta go !!! :)

Re: The hang out...
A new priest, born and raised in Texas , comes to
serve in a city parish and is nervous about hearing
confessions, so he asks the older priest to sit in
on his sessions.
The new priest hears a couple of confessions,
then the old priest asks him to step out of the
confessional for a few suggestions.
The old priest suggests, “Cross your arms over your
chest, and rub your chin with one hand and try saying
things like 'yes, I see,' and 'yes, go on,' and 'I understand.'”
The new priest crosses his arms, rubs his chin with one
hand and repeats all the suggested remarks to the old priest.
The old priest says, "Now, don't you think that's a little
better than slapping your knee and saying,
‘No shit, what happened next?’"
We all breathe the same air.

How crazy! I was watching a cam of Lake Erie during part of the storm and man, those waves were HUGE...I couldn't believe something that was not the ocean would produce waves like that!

The winds blew a bunch of shingles off my daughters house. There is 3 layers on it, and the wind blew off some of the outer layer. They have no homeowners insurance. My son-in-law is out of work again. They hope to have a new roof put on next year. I hope it doesn't start leaking. So far, so good.

That is awesome ! We have a piano, an old formerly player piano from around 1890.The player part was irreparable, and it had to be removed. It is huge and heavy. 2 of my daughters play it well, and 1 of my grandsons also plays.

Awesome. I never formally learned how to play piano. Still want to though. Music allows you to express yourself and doesn't have the restrictions language has.

I used to have a synthesizer when I was younger and had more time to spend on my hobby but I only played by hearing and I was using the wrong fingers on the wrong keys. lOl

My 20th anniversary is today, how times flies.

I would do it all over again and still she grows more beautiful in my eyes every single day.
I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw.

We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three.

Re: The hang out...
It has been difficult around here. My husband applied for Social Security Disability almost 2 months ago. The stacks of paperwork he has had to fill out SINCE he applied, was unreal. He has already been put to the rack by the Social Security Psychiatrist, and today had to go to the Social Security MD. I got to say, the SS doctor he went to today was actually kind, which is unusual for an SS doctor. The doctor was very thorough. The doctor even newly diagnosed another illness that I suspected my husband had, Emphysema.
He has been wheezing and coughing pretty bad for over a year. He has not been to a doctor for months, because he has no health insurance. He lost that when he lost his unemployment months ago.
We are hanging in there.

Went to get my high school transcripts today, school says they have me on record for being there for four years, but I never got a single grade in those four years and have zero credits.

Mind you my principal was my neighbor and my wife was living with me in 11th grade, they graduated her early and picked fights with me daily, even took away a few of my credits just to pick a fight with me.

This is BS though, going to have to lawyer up I think.

Hi all, happy to see you all survived Sandy with minimal damage!!
I have some good news I wanted to share - I start my new job on Monday YAY!!! I was going crazy not working :(
My son Nick, who has been through the ringer with schizophrenia is finally home again & going pretty well (touch wood lol). I stopped taking him for his injection 2 weeks ago as I honestly believe it was doing absolutely nothing good for him. Hopefully by the time they figure it out I can convince his psych doctor that he doesn't need their meds & they don't resume them (he is on a court order until January). Someone put up a thread with some great info on the affects of too much/not enough copper & I think it will be really worth while going to have a hair sample/toxin test done!

Hope you are all well <3 miffed

Oh & Happy 20th anniversary Chrit!!

ok this is just funny!

The movements of performers in a string quartet are controlled by electric muscle stimulation so that they involuntarily 'play' their instruments.
