Congratulations! She came just in time for Thanksgiving..talk about something to be thankful for! They're so precious. I'm looking forward to being a grandma one day.

Early HAPPY THANKSGIVING from me since I see others are doing it and I will probably not be on much tomorrow since I'm planning on cooking a bunch of stuff from scratch. Hey, feel free to post some of your recipes or tips on here, I can't believe it but some people were telling individuals on another thread to thaw their turkeys in HOT WATER if they forgot to thaw them...YIKES!

I got my turkey brining and guess tomorrow morning I'll be roasting squash or pumpkin for the pie before doing other stuff.

So listen to my day......

So been cleaning house and dragging out boxes and such for Christmas.. Raked leaves up and blah blah blah..... OK so its dinner time... Me and 2 of my kids are sitting down for dinner... We were watching tv.. and my DD says mom someone is in the basement... I said ohh your silly that is your cat... playing in the kitchen. I go to the kitchen and see it is not the cat... I here it coming from the basement.. The basement door is closed.. so I know our pets didn't get down there. At the bottom of the steps in a big pile is bags and bags of cans.. I collect them to cash them in... anyhow you hear what sounds like someone trying to real quietly move the bags to get to the steps... I whisper to my daughter to get a chair... I walk over and grab the door and lean on it.. she brings me a chair to prop behind doorknob.. I tell her to take her 2 yr old bro to the bedroom. I grab a knife and the phone... I call my BIL who lives down the street... I grab my kids and go outside...

Anyhooo...... I did have a bandit in the basement... a raccoon. and apperently he while trying to hop to the window down there, jumped off my faucet and turned it on... and my whole basement was flooded... like 2 inches. my stuff that was down there all ruined.. and now full of nasty water....

Anyone want to guess ill be doing all hoiday weekend.. Besides crying that is.......

Anyhow.. Happy Thanksgiving all. I am thankful it was a raccoon rather than a rapest or something.

I am sooo tired. I was up late last night, making the deviled eggs, baking cheesecake and brownies. I got up at 6am, and put the pumpkin pie in the oven. I have got company coming over, so I spruced up the house, quick sweep, mop, and dust. I am taking a quick break, at my husbands insistance, as I am driving him nuts as I am running through the house, trying to get everything just so. ! :) I am putting the turkey on at noon, and then I got a lot of sides to throw together. :)
I am so gratefull to have food on the table, and plenty of it ! I am so gratefull to be tired from all the housecleaning, as some people do not have a place to call home on this Holiday. I am so BLESSED !

Thanksgiving today at my house for a few people who could not have a Thanksgiving this year. Also having my brother’s daughter over, no one has seen or heard from my brother in 9 months now.

Have to make the best of it.

Sorry I'm just replying to this now, I was MIA all week since I have been busy with family visiting and then having to paint. That is awful and sounds a lot like my husband's brother. He'll dissapear for weeks/months on end, nobody knows if he's alive or dead. Now he's trying to clean up though, but it's happened a few times.

It's over!! It's really over... I passed woohoo *does the happy dance* Now I need something very strong to drink.

The weather is REALLY nice today, I have been waiting on putting mine up outside because I needed an extension cord but I may just swipe one my husband has. No tree yet though!! I don't know when anyone else puts up their tree, but we tend to procrastinate so hopefully we'll try to get it up sooner than our usual week to a few days before Christmas.
