Happy Saturday, EVERYONE !!!
Our furnace went out yesterday. We got it going again, but were without heat for a few hours. We found small pieces of the chimney inside the furnace itself. We cleared them off the burners so the burners would light. We know we got one heck of a potential problem. The chimney looks fine and dandy on the outside, no cracks, missing bricks, etc. SOMETHING is seriously wrong on the INSIDE of it. We are going to have to call someone next week to look at it.
My husband has been very sick for several days. He could not get a doctor appointment until this morning. He now has a collection of medicines to rival a pharmacy ! I have come down sick, too, but it is not the same illnesses that he has. I HAD to be differant ! :)
GEESH, Murphy's Law rules around here ! FYI, my husband has no medical insurance, so everything is out-of-pocket. THANK GOD his disability checks started up this week ! There is a 2 year wait before he can get medicare under the disability affirmation. So, the next 2 years, he still will not have medical insurance. :(

On the bright side, my youngest turned 18 TODAY !!! She is in Chicago celebrating with about a dozen of her friends. They all caught the morning train into Chicago. They are going skating at Millenium Park, catching some sights, and patronizing a couple of the restaurants ! :) She will be coming over here later this evening, so we can celebrate some more, and enjoy a delicious cake from the local bakery ! :)

It's it weird how everything goes wrong at once? I This week we had to call the cable guy (for both phone AND internet being down) and the plumber. But hey, I'm determined to have a great day tomorrow! You and your husband are in my prayers. Tell your daughter happy birthday!

I used to fix them and ovens when I was young, sounds like your heat exchanger rotted, might mean a new furnace but more important, do you have a working CO2 detector!??!! If it is the heat exchange it will be leaking CO2. Be very carful tonight if you do not have a CO2 detector, worries me.

Thank you, Dease ! We were going to go out to dinner today to celebrate my daughters birthday,and Valentines Day(also our wedding anniversary) but my husband and I are so sick, I couldn't even go to church this morning, or go over my mothers to help her. My daughter is going over to her grandma's later, to help her out.
My daughter had a blast in Chicago ! They skated at Millenium Park for a couple of ours, after stopping to eat, took in some sights, but froze, as it was very cold and very windy. 3 of her friends missed the morning train, but joined them later.
Her circle of friends are all courteous, kind hearted young people. When we were putting up the new fence last year, several of them came over and volunteered to help us.
I am glad that they are all sticking together, like they did when they were younger. Even the ones that left for college far away from here, will get together with the rest of the bunch when they are in town.They are their own support group, all good kids.

We have a boiler/hot water heat. I have the old fashioned big radiators, the originals when this house was built 93 years ago. The boiler is about 20 years old. I think the pump is going out, besides the chimney problems. :( There is rust in the lines, and sometimes the pump stops. When we hear it whining, we bang on it with a hammer, and the rust loosens up and the pump will start working again. We are going to have to get the pump replaced.

I thought that maybe y'all would like some comic relief. This guys name is Bill Burr, and he is hilarious!
