Korea would be a bloodbath plain and simple. That's why we have never reignited that fire. The coals have always been burning but there is a lot of fear on both sides of the consequences. We have fought " safe" wars if you will. In Korea we would lose as many in the first month as we have in Iraq and Afghanistan combined if not more.. Nobody wants to punch that ticket. The weather and terrain are dangerous adversaries. They negate some of the effectiveness of our whizz bang wonder weapons. The kill zones have been prepared for nearly 60 years now. Targets are marked and mapped. It would be fought street to street. Hilltop to hilltop. Rice paddy to rice paddy. That's just for starters on the conventional side of things.

The U.S. is poking them with a stick right now. They want NK to over-react to our rhetoric and throw the first punch.

Surely it's hypocritical to "nuke" North Korea to stop them getting "nukes". Every time people say "North Korea should get nuked", it makes North Korea want its own nuclear weapons even more, so that they WON'T be nuked.
