The houses around the burnt out building are all in good condition. The residents who lost adjacent apartments in the same building will most likely be compensated by both the insurance companies and the police department. A big loss for them, but at least they won't be left without anything. |

All of the comments from GLP'ers about the military sending him to the sandbox and all the PTSD he might have and then the country turning their back on him...are now unapplicable. I think that most of that 30-40 page thread about him can be dismissed now. Most of the news is now saying "Security guard killed cop". This is going to heavily stigmatize the field of security. Many cops do not like security officers...like there's a "We're better than you" concept already out there and it's quite unfavorable. Being a security officer is one of the most difficult jobs out there and people just don't give credit to all security officers have to deal with. They're probably better at working with the public on a grand scale than cops are because security officers don't have the same rights or responsibilities as cops. They can't just shoot and ask questions later, they don't have huge departments, unions and county/city/state attorneys behind them when they act or make decisions. Ferrario may have been a good one, may have been a bad one...I really don't know. But, he apparently went out at night dressed in his security uniform...armed and all. This lends to the idea that he was in fact not facing reality and he was unemployed. The reports all say that he was behind in his $15,000.00 mortgage...it seems as if he'd have not bought so much gear or sold some of his 22 firearms, he might have been able to keep his house. The deputy and the locksmith both lost their lives...this is the tragedy but sounds like Ferrario's life was also a tragedy. Security officers are often good Americans who love their 2nd amendment rights and are gun owners. They're a strong part of the right and wrong in this nation. Hopefully security officers don't receive a bad rap because of it. Lord knows there's enough politics out there as it is. In fact, many people remain security officers because they don't want to "become" what is wrong with some police officers today. The fact that he's NOT military is a big difference from the original story. Where'd he get his training? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13778508 You can buy most, if not all of that shit up here, too. Just go get a restricted PAL and you can get an AR, handguns, etc. The AR magazines are pinned to five rounds, but Dremels are cheap at Canadian Tire if you're inclined to fix that little "problem." |
